Anyone know how high most of the water is on Sherburne? Going to do a last minute scout before bow season and I have never been before. I plan on using my pirogue in the bayous and getting away from all the roads. When I look at the topo on OnX the areas I am looking at are the marsh/swamp/wetlands symbol, just wondering how much water I should plan on walking through when I get out the boat.

Aside from the actual sloughs and bayous, almost everything should be walkable in knee boots.

So hip boots are overkill?

Yes, the water should be low right now.

I used to hunt there a lot. Wick is right, most areas wont need hip boots, however I always wore them in case I decided to cross something deeper. Also, every deer I've shot there has decided to cross something deep and I got wet.

I usually start walking at about 430 AM, you have to take the movement of people in to consideration more than the deer's habits to kill there. I try to be in the woods when people are bumping deer around. The guys who go by boat push the deer to me.
