Game Of Thrones Thoughts Now That Some Time Has past

Has anyone had any desire to go back and watch any of it?
For me not at all. I thought I would be open to rewatching after some time has past to get over the final seasons shortcomings and I just don't care. I'm out.
Too bad because I, like many of you, have those favorite TV shows and movies that you go back and rewatch and knowing how GOT ends just keeps me away.
To be honest I'm not really thrilled about any spin-off unless they do something with Arya's journey West...
Just a little curious how others felt.

Of course I don't care anything about rewatching it now, but I'm sure I'll do some rewatching in a couple of years.
I'm excited about the spin-offs. D&D have nothing to do with them (remember it wasn't HBO pushing them to quickly end the series; that was their decision), and AWOIAF is an awesome universe.

We actually did our complete series rewatch leading up to the final season and ultimately finishing through season 7 a couple of weeks after viewing the series finale. I doubt we'll do another rewatch anytime soon, and defintely will not likely rewatch season 8 at all.

I did rewatch S1-S7 prior to S8, but have no desire to re-watch again after how the last season turned out. I'm sure I'll catch myself watching an episode on HBO every now and then - but that's about it in regards to that show.
I'll definitely check out the spin-offs.
Still holding out hope we'll eventually get the last two books, but I'm not exactly holding my breath on that one.

No
I don’t want to rewatch a show about people learning special moves, but never using their special moves.

That’s like asking LSU fans if they rewatched the 2012 national championship game.

I watched the entire series since it ended and 1-6 were as fantastic as ever. Especially 1-4. Just great
8 is such dog shite i could barely even get through it and the ended made me as mad as ever

Rain downvotes, but I really do think they ruined it for Disney, an early shot in the content wars to come. GoT would have been the pearl of HBO streaming for years, but not anymore.
It's one of the most well crafted stories ever filmed, until you get to the retarded last season. The lack of a conclusion that is satisfying in any way makes it unwatcheable, unless you stop at 6 or 7 and just pretend that's how it ends.
They were already slated to do a SW trilogy, but Bob Iger didn't announce that they would be doing the NEXT one until the middle of the final GoT season.
I guess Iger was satisfied with what he saw.

AT&T owns HBO (Warner), not Disney

quote:That's what I'm talking about. They wanted to ruin the content of their competitor. In the middle of the final season, when Iger was satisfied that this was done, he awarded them with the forthcoming SW trilogy. Before that, they were slated for a trilogy to be named later, which, in the movie business, means maybe never, especially if it is scheduled after another entire trilogy.

If they didn't get the next one, they would have had to find something else to do for the better part of the next decade. There's no way Iger made that announcement because he was so impressed by the quality of what he saw. He wouldn't be in his position if he was that bad at estimating quality. No, he was satisfied that they had sufficiently ruined it, and executed a deal they had worked out beforehand.

I think i've watched seasons 1-6 three times and seasons 7 and 8 twice. Cant see myself ever watching 8 again.
I still think it is one of the greatest shows ever. It could have went down as tGOAT but I think it's just one of the best now. I defended the show more than most for a while, but as it's sat in, I dislike it more and more. Is still think season 8 had a few good episodes but the final episode was just brutally bad.
One thing that I still do like, which im pretty sure im alone in this, is Jamie's story arc. I'll debate if anybody's up for it.

Nope. That last episode ruined it for me. I would have said yes up until then.

How so? For the most part I think it was well done. I just didn't like the way they died. Jamie having that douche mortally wound him and then to have he and sis end up with a castle dropped on them was weak...but they were destined to end together. I would have like the mad queen to have perhaps captured them and execute them together with "Dracarys"...That's just me

I enjoyed seasons 1-7. I doubt I'll ever watch 8 again. I need the fat man to finish his damn books.

The biggest gripe was that Jamie had developed into a very redeeming character and most hoped that he would eventually get to kill Cersei. Like he had legitimately turned a corner and was done with her. Especially after hooking up with Brienne.
I just liked that no matter how bad you wanted Jamie to be free of Cersei, seeing as how horrible of a person she was and that Jamie had actually became a pretty good guy, she was really the only one that mattered in the end.
He and Cersei had said for so long that nothing mattered except for them, as long as they had each other blah blah blah. We thought we might get a last laugh and all point our finger at Cersei and say look how dumb you are, he doesnt love you you're too much of a bitch. Nope, we were stupid for ever thinking that would be the case.
Yea the way they died definitely could have been better, but how his story arced was actually pretty good to me.

Jesus fricking Christ. I've heard some dumb conspiracy theories on TD but this is up there with the worst.

I think if Jamie had killed Cersei the way Jon Snow killed Danny and Danny had not gone mad queen and ended up ruler of the seven kingdoms and Jon becoming King of the North with Sansa at his side people would have ate that shite up and asked for seconds..

Disney paid off the GoT writers to throw the game in the final inning.
Can't wait to see this new film version of Eight Men Out.
