Whatcha Think About Trump Making Incandescents Legal Again?

The dishwasher thread got me to thinking.
Trump just rolled back the ban on incandescent light bulbs. Obama outlawed any bulb over 60 Watts, leaving only LED's and CFL's.
I think it's a bad move for Trump. LED's are better in every way that the old incandescents. I mean it's not a huge deal that I'm going to cry over, but we should encourage people to switch to LED's. They will save you about 75% on your light bill, perform just as well and last longer.
The only people pushing this were the companies that make the bulbs. Obviously they like it when you buy bulbs that burn out in less than a year, as opposed to 10-20 years with an LED.

Love it!!!
I’m not going to lie, it’s a little thing, but it makes a huge impact on our daily lives. I am very happy to support Trump if only for this one reason.

Love it!! Don't be upset with letting the market decide. LEDs give off a different feel and look than an incandescent. It's all good until the government tells you what you must buy.

Its not as bad as rolling back requirements for good mileage cars but its good for billy bob's vote.

What do you mean by this? You meaning Thornton or something else entirely, like how much better a person you are because you're a socialist Democrat?

Then people will choose LED's and weed out incandescents

I have to replace LED lights that supposedly last ~10 years about every 9 months. Bring back the cheap shite that last forever.

I hate LED's. They are not the same and certainly not better. My prefer you buy LED's if you prefer, and I buy incandescents if I prefer. That's a reasonable position, right?
I literally laughed out loud when Obama outlawed regular bulbs. Someone broke an LED, called poison control about how to clean it up. Poison control sent in dudes with Hazmat suits....you can't make this shite up.

If it upsets progressives, I am 100% in support of this policy change.
Shouldn’t the free market determine what kind of light bulbs we use?

Those were CFL's not LED's.

On a list of 10000 things I'm hoping trump does, light bulbs are not on that list.

Agreed 100%.
But let the market decide, not regulation.

MIFA: Make Illumination Free Again.
I will stick with with the LEDs that I have been adding as the CFLs have worn out. It is just too convenient to walk into the house and tell it to light itself in my choice of dozens of configurations and color temperatures, or to tell it to light the family room for movie viewing, etcetera.

Incandescents look better. I’m good with this

Let the market decide.
If people want cheaper incandescent bulbs that are less efficient, that should be their choice.

I prefer to have consumer choice, so I think it's great.
Since the 100W incandescent has been banned, I have moved up to 200W incandescents (which you can get at some hardware stores).

That's one thing that really pisses me off. They push these things with the lie that they last 10+ years. bullshite. If that were true, I wouldn't have had to replace any of them yet.
Who am I going to believe? Leftists or my lying eyes?

I'm very curious who downvoted this post. Could you explain your reasoning?
