Unless you're prepared to say DKR is a more hostile environment than, say, Kyle Field, Bryant-Denny, the Swamp, Neyland (when Tenn is actually decent), or Davis-Wade (with those goddamn cowbells)...

Do NOT go to the Rub n Tug about 1/2 mile north of there on the East Side of 35 kinda tucked up under there.
It's a total waste of money b/c nobody can get off with a huge 2 way Mirror in the rooms with a big bouncer watching you.

So I've Heard.

Let me guess, you live back in BR now? Quick.. In 20 words or less describe whats great about BR (or San Fran which you love). Thats what I thought, I dont get my so many LSU fans are bashing Austin but hey, thats cool. To each their own. I do see a lot of fans that are excited to come and enjoy the atmosphere and the game. To all of those, enjoy you time in Austin!

What I love about Baton Rouge in 20 words:
LSU, running around the lakes, beautiful architecture, Raising Canes, rainy days, the people, Mary Lee’s, oak trees, music, tradition, life

Because LSU will be beating that arse so bad Texas fans will want to burn it from your collective memory

Got here yesterday and went out last night. Their fans were pretty passive with little to no “hook ems,” but there was a large amount of P&G about which would easily shrivel the average hipster wiener...

Austin is beautiful in its own way but the liberal, homeless young people have made it a place to avoid!

My experience is that everyone of my family members love visiting and always talk about how much they wish Baton Rouge had a fraction of what Austin has. Reading this board you would think Baton Rouge was some Shangri La and that Austin was the armpit of America.

Well shangri La is surrounded by homeless peasants so I think that may fit NBR nicely

For those that are there. You can head downtown and rent a bike, head across the bridge and drink some beers at Yeti. Good times.

This thread was supposed to be first hand descriptions of the scene in Austin...run-ins with tiger fans, heard chants, Texas fan reaction to the purple and gold masses, etc
