If a system was put in place such that students had to swipe their IDs to get in and swipe them again to leave and those students with the longest game time on their IDs got priority for game tickets and could enter the stadium earlier, would that help motivate them to stay?
I don’t know how old everyone here is but this has been going on forever (or at least since 1988). The only way to get students to stay past halftime is to let them have sex in the student section. That’s why they’re leaving, because getting “nekkid” with a Pi Phi was always infinitely more important than a football game to 18 year old me.

I’ve got a solution! Let’s turn LSU into a prison, and force thirty thousand students into one giant chain gang. They would be forced to enter exactly one hour before the players warm up, and they would return to their jail cells together exactly thirty minutes after the alma mater is played. In order to optimize the in-game experience, we should hire the most zealous posters from tigerdroppings to wield cattle prods for those students who sit, those who don’t cheer loudly enough, and those who chant STTDB.

I find the whole idea of people leaving the stadium just flat out weird. With 8 home games lasting about 3 and 1/2 hours each, that comes to roughly 28 hours a year to watch the Tigers actually play. With all of the time, money, and investment that we put into going to the games and following the team, it makes no sense to me that pretty much everybody leaves and can’t hang around for 28 hours to watch the real game.

Im sure its already been said, but its happening all over college football. Not just at LSU

But from a fire Marshall standpoint it's probably not legal and it would take forever to leave the stadium if they did that. Especially at the end of a close game where everyone leaves at the same time.
Or maybe once the game ends everyone gets credit for being there

It was a game against Georgia Southern, you can’t blame the students for bolting early.

Have you seen the crowd at Maryland.. Look that up and then tell me you aren't happy with our crowd

Can confirm, just attended a Maryland game. People were nice but goodness do they not have a football culture there.

People who leave at halftime should have their tickets revoked and given to someone else

Team Vote...what better things are you talking about?
Every year, we wait for the start of football season. Then we get 7...seven...home games. Anybody watch the OU game last night. Late 4th quarter and stands were almost full.

It’s insane to me that they don’t already have a system in place to help this but the fact is that students today aren’t like students 25-30 years ago. Back then You’d go to game and then the bar. You couldn’t keep in touch with people via text or social media. You’d plan to meet up at a certain time and until then you did what you wanted. Now people have to constantly be connected to people instantly that they can’t sit still long enough to just enjoy anything. Concerts, games, church, sex. They aren’t satisfied with anything more than a few minutes. They haven’t had to sit through commercials their entire life.

It was 42-3 at halftime. Who cares if they left?

That game was 42-31 late in the 4th quarter. We were up 42-3 at halftime. There’s a bit of a difference.

This has been curious to me. I read how anxious people are for the season to arrive. They show up and leave early. I was at an alumini watch party and it was still pretty full well into the 4th quarter.
I mean everyone expected it to be a blow out. I watched until the end as I figure it is only a treat 10-13 times a year and I want to enjoy every minute.
Leave early if you are so inclined. I don't care. Just it is only happening for such a short time every year, I find it curious that you are not enjoying the full experience.
I expect there will be lots of comments and downvotes and I don't care about that either. I guess I want to experience every minute. I can party and get wasted anytime.
Yes I am old school.

When the students start to leave in masse, get the band to play a few lines of Neck. Rinse and repeat.

Yeah so if I'm 19 and all the half dressed girls are heading out I am probably going with them.

Imagine buying a ticket to a movie, then realizing halfway through you know the ending so you decide to leave
Then some guy pulls you aside and calls you an a-hole for leaving the movie early![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/Icons/IconLOL.gif)

Not an LSU isolated issue. Bama has had the same issue for years. Nobody wants to sit in the heat after drinking all day to watch the second half of a massive blowout

People leaving early is nothing new. IMO tv is to blame the most.
