Your opinion is noted but not respected.

My understanding is there was created or recognized a special IRS consideration for Black churches allowing more political involvement because they play a larger role in the community than just religion, they brought the African- American out of slavery.

White churches lead the abolition movement. Black churches lead the civil rights movement.

You really have no room whatsover to call anyone completely ignorant or totally dishonest. Or both.

Name the year of the last election that the Moral Majority participated in.

You’re about to get worked. You can pretend to ignore this if you like.

No church should be tax exempt. The cathloics were raping little boys. Being mean on a sign is not as bad.

Just glad to see you admit that your post

Fundamentalists and Evangelicals have been using the pulpit to promote Republicans for years.

No. They haven’t.

Was wrong

That's why I laughed at it

Tell me what church was responsible for the Moral Majority.

How were they connected to a church or churches?

You can stop responding at any time.

The answer to the previous post was 1988.

Brah, Falwell was either fined or lost tax exempt status for illegal politickin' several times, even after the MM broke up

Same thing with the Christian Coalition and Ralph Reed

These were all evangelical right organizations that were trying to skirt tax laws as Christian "charities" etc, that were nothing more than huge money PACs

If you want to parse having evangelical pastors as the head of these orgs as "not a church", then go ahead

They were even bigger, in that they controlled the churches

If you really believe that this poor black church is doing something that evangelicals haven't done on a galactic scale, then you really should read up

Advocating a political position is advocating a political position.
If advocating for prolife is political, then there are no nonq-political issues. You’re dumb enough to argue with this as well.
So, a policy is not “political” because YOU think it is REALLY important?

And you probably don’t see how ridiculous that is, right?

Exactly. This dude brings Citizens United into discussions about religious churches being tax exempt.

WTF is CU and what does it have to do with churches? Rabbit chase much?

Uh huh. You’re getting warmer.

By parsing, you mean pointing out that the Moral Majority organization wasn’t a church at all, then yes. I will parse.

And you pointing out that he was fined simply highlights my point. When it did happen on the right, it was vigorously prosecuted.

No. I’m plainly pointing out that in your world, churches couldn’t take any position on any issue more important than which chicken sandwich to eat.
