Opposing coaches unfiltered on LSU:

6. LSU
Few teams sparked as many coaching opinions as the Tigers. "It will be interesting to see what they really are," an SEC coordinator said "They're the one to me who seems, you don't ever want to say overhyped because it's LSU, but maybe a little bit." There's great optimism within the program about the offense with quarterback Joe Burrow, a talented receiving corps and running backs Clyde Edwards-Helaire and John Emery. New passing game coordinator Joe Brady cut his teeth under Mississippi State coach Joe Moorhead and has injected elements of Moorhead's offense. "Every play that goes in, there's 3-4 options and [Burrow] gets them into the right play," an LSU source said. "That's really advanced. LSU hasn't been like that." An SEC coach was less bullish on Burrow, saying, "He's a great kid, but he's certainly not a projected [NFL] draft kid. That's not really the makings of a kid who's going to tear apart the SEC this year." Coaches are more optimistic about LSU's defense. "[Defensive coordinator Dave] Aranda is the big difference with LSU," another SEC offensive coordinator said. "As long as they keep him there, LSU will be good."

Toughness and making the right decisions go a long way toward success as a college QB. And you can be a very successful college QB without being an NFL prospect.
I feel like this quote comes from some moron TEs coach that's on a staff just to recruit, but doesn't actually know anything.

As the youngsters would say, "real recognize real."
We are lucky to have Aranda.

Right.
An offensive coordinator is speaking about the guy he is charged with scheming against and giving him the highest praise there is.
I hope Aranda never leaves.

Yeah I thought the same. Guys like Jalen Hurts probably don't have an NFL future (at least at QB) but are excellent college QBs.

They said the same thing about Tom Brady.

between posters like godenrush25 and the opposing coaches quotes, the thread last year on the same subject is quite the funny read.

I dunno, if you have something on me, let's see it.
Not like you don't have months of garbage posts I can pull up if need be.

This quote could be applied to so many great college QBs. Just look at the all time passing yards leaders in SEC history:
1. Aaron Murray Georgia
2. Drew Lock Mizzou
3. David Greene Georgia
4. Chris Leak Florida
5. Peyton Manning Tennessee
6. Eric Zeier Georgia
7. Danny Wuerffel Florida
8. Jared Lorenzen Kentucky
9. Eli Manning Ole Miss
10. Casey Clausen Tennessee

quote:
I love Ed, but the chaos he's created on offense is a problem. He got rid of a pretty good offensive coordinator (Matt Canada), they lose two NFL running backs and four offensive linemen, and Steve Ensminger is going to lead them to the promised land?
Seems like a year later this was spot on.

Not sure where his head is with that. We've had non-NFL QB's tear up the SEC. Danny Wuerffel and Aaron Murray anybody? I would say Tebow too, but he did last a while in the NFL.

I didn't see any posts by Goldrush in that thread nor do I see what is so funny about those quotes from last year. Maybe I'm missing something. ![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/icons/shrug.gif)

Didn't browse it, but i could have possibly confused it with one of these

“LSU is kicking itself for not having a bigger event this weekend” - Shea Dixon
Glenn Guilbeau just now on ESPNU -LSU has the lowest talent level since Nick took over LSU
ESPN's Peter Burns Quick thoughts leaving LSU FB Spring Tour for @SIRIUSXM:
I am a negatiger. I think this 2018 LSU football team will be bad
