I would say most do some don't. I don't see very many in the left lane.

Whenever we lived there, the second I'm going 10 over, there happens to be troopers there. When trucks are cruising in the left lane, they're never there.
Speed limit is already slow af. Make trucks have to take the 190 detour.

I drive it a couple of times a week, I think 95% of the trucks follow the lane restrictions and run about 60 mph. The issue is personal vehicles traveling 75+mph, they need to set a posted speed limit of 60mph for everyone and set up speed cameras every mile that ticket people +/- 5mph from the posted speed on that stretch of road.

Drive it at 4am and you'll see them doing 80 in the left lane. When the state troopers come out at 5am they start sticking to the right lane.
Louisiana should make it law that trucks have to stay in the right lane on the interstate.

They just need Troopers to get of their butts and do some actual speed enforcement.

In kentucky on one stretch of I think I-75 they make them stay in the left lane. Completely fricks everything up.

When will people realize the the speed in and of itself is not dangerous? It is the lane switching. When I get stuck behind someone cruising in the left lane on that bridge I give them a bit to get over but if I have to pass, I always look into the vehicle to see their dumbass and almost always either one or a combination of two things are the case:
1) Someone stuck on their phone and oblivious to the traffic around them.
2) A Texan that is completely zoned out presumably on the long drive back home.

I drive it five days a week and have been for over ten years. More like 60% obey the restrictions, and I’m being generous. They need to ticket the ones who don’t and make examples out of them. That would help get compliance up. A speed limit of 70 MPH and strict enforcement of the law against traveling in the left lane for all vehicles would help.

So what doesn't make sense to me is that the speed limit wad previously lowered during the Foster administration due to accidents. Yet we still have accidents. Doesn't this prove that lowering the speed limit was a mistake?

That would frick everything up if they make truckers stay in the left lane. They should be made to stay in the right lane. It would stop much of the congestion and make the trucks slow down to a reasonable speed.

What there needs to be is a set of lights or something every couple of miles that would flash when traffic is stopped on the bridge ahead. My Gramps spent seven hours in the ER last night because a jackass driving a bobtail couldn’t stop in time.

Other states do this. It's easy with solar-powered radar guns. We'll need a study to prove this works.

So we should enforce the speed of the truckers but damn those speed traps that pull over me in my car?
Driving the 18 mile stretch at 70 versus 50 will not save you a heck of a lot of time.
When texting Susie hits the guard rail in front of me, I would prefer my chances if everybody was driving 50 versus driving 70.
Hate me but I am for rolling speed blocks or heavy speed enforcement. I have no problem giving up a few minutes to live.
