My cousin in Lakeview had his car broken into for the 3rd time this year

He parks in the driveway while his wife parks in the garage. Nothing of value is ever kept in the car. Yet he came home last night to find two of his windows smashed to bits with nothing even taken.
Due to this being the 3rd break in this year and and another incident in which my uncle had his car stolen and ran into a ditch, he and his wife are looking into moving out of the city. Born and raised in NOLA, lived there his whole life, and has finally had enough of the shenanigans.
When will NOLA ever not be a shithole?

Simple solution, leave nothing in the car or trunk. Leave the car unlocked.Or move to a safer location.
I moved out on New Orleans some years ago. I love New Orleans, but New Orleans did not love me.

Sadly across the canal in Metairie the little thugs hit those east Metairie areas almost nightly too. Luckily most of the time they are just pulling in door handles. Still can’t believe how many nimrods leave their cars unlocked

The only bad thing about Old Gretna (and Old Algiers between Opelousas and the river) is they're located on the west bank.
