I see the edge of red brushing land on coast
Posted on 9/5/19 at 2:52 am to Chad504boy
To be clear he is talking about the eye wall and not the eye which is NOT a technical landfall
Just glancing at radar the eye wall doesn’t look to be on land to me but I’m no expert

There are also two confirmed tornadoes in NC right now.
Posted on 9/5/19 at 5:33 am to Pepperoni
One tornado was confirmed in Wrightsboro NC (Near coastal Wilm) and many more tornado watches along the coast and inland Pender County. Locally hearing landfall Morehead city later on. Also hearing it will be over around 8PM tonight and near Morehead City OBX?
The coast is evacuated from Oak Island to North Topsail Island. Sheriff's went door to door yesterday and last night. The coasts are ghost towns, if anybody stayed they were given every chance. They have open shelters in Wilmington and inland Pender counties.

Well that was easy. Slept right through everything and still have power.

hope the same for me. Just heard the local guy that is so patiently breaking down every twister everywhere say the eyewall is breaking up. Best news this morning for the coasts but I think Morehead City OBX gonna get it.
Just saw a twister on TV N Myrtle beach come off the water.

Yep. SC governor set of a chain of panic by announcing a mandatory evac on Sunday. Georgia governor then felt he had to as well so he announced it via twitter at 1015 Sunday night blindsiding all the counties that were preparing in an orderly manner.
Now we've had people on mandatory evacuation since noon yesterday and the storm is still two days away.
Just got done walking the dogs and teaching my 3 year old how to ride a bike in the street. Sending pics to all the pussies who left two days ago asking for prayers in the evac zone.
BUMP

Looking at the power company map...77,000 outages in Charleston County...26,000 outages in Dorchester...16,000 outages in Beaufort County
Edit: Looks like 194,000 total outages in SC so far.

Linking the Jammer cams in the OT? Aces! I had a beer there last night, Riding it out here on Isle of Palms. Not too bad so far. Storm surge at the 1AM high tide was minimal. 50mph wind with some higher gusts right now. Worst part is being stuck with my sister in law in my house but the storm did make my mother in law leave on Tuesday so that was a plus.
