I do feel for the LSU boys because louisiana heat is no where near as brutal as that austin heat. They do realize that the games at 630 right? The "heat" won't effect our boys at all. And I hope this guy comes and enjoys our humidity next fall in tiger stadium.

If anything Austin heat won’t be nearly as oppressive or stifling for our guys as it is in south Louisiana. While not as big of a contrast as say Arizona, I always found it to be slightly lower humidity than BR when I would visit friends there in the summers and if you look at weather reports it consistently beats that out.

1. “wE bEaT gEoRgIa” 2. They think Ehlinger is the Tom Brady of college football. 3. Herman walks on water. 4. “They’re BAAAAACKK!” (Insert eye roll)

1) Georgia was an uninspired bowl participant.
2) Ehlinger is a great dual threat QB. (3rd in team rushing and scored 16 of their 24 rushing touchdowns last year)
3) Herman is over-rated, just like Jimbo.
4) They only have one direction to go.

Tigers 34 - 17.

Yea, the heat index was 109° yesterday in the new Orleans area. Baton rouge was 108° I think they can handle it...

I know. The comment about it will be hot in TX makes me laugh. Like they are coming from the North Pole. The air temp might be lower in BR and south Louisiana but the heat index is the same when you factor in humidity. So I’m guessing it will be 65 and sunny next September when we play them in BR. Lol

There will be little to no different in the temps between BR and Austin.

Let them keep being overly confident. Let them keep believing LSU is overrated.

We know what we have. And reasonable fans know that Texas will put up a hell of a fight in their house. It is what it is. Let them think that our defense, full of All-Americans and future early round NFL Draft picks, "sucks". That doesn't even piss me off... it makes me laugh. This "sucky" defense is going to give them nightmares. Herman's offense vs. Aranda's defense will be very entertaining to watch. LSU's defense matches up far better with Texas' offense than the Texas defense matches up with LSU's offense.

I'm ready for this game already. It's going to be a good one. I'll just leave it at that.

I remember when Oregon brought their video game offense to Dallas. I also remember our linemen moving their linemen around at will

I just read the complete opposite on the SEC forum. Where a guy said the Big XII plays no defense and their top teams will get destroyed by middle of the pack SEC offenses. Their defenses are not designed to stop smashmouth football teams. Went on to say the Big XII should get rid of pads and just play flag football since thats essentially what they are doing anyway.

Fake news. No one is saying that on the board I frequent. (Inside Texas). It's pretty much recognized that Texas will be facing the best defense these starters have seen.

Texas fans have confidence in Ehlinger, and they know you LSU fans are not high on your offensive line.

I’ve read the opposite. Most of the confidence I’ve seen is that they think LSUs offense will still be trying to figure things out, and so they think they can keep LSU’s offense at bay and do just enough on offense.

The factors I keep seeing mentioned are:

1) superior coaching
2) superior QB
3) our ineptitude in last year’s Bama game
4) home field advantage
5) their success against Georgia
6) our new offense is what their defense sees every week (and LSU - in our 2nd game - will not be as adept at it as other Big XII teams)
7) Herman’s history of success when an underdog

Did I mention they have zero respect for Coach O???
These reasons, with the exception of #3, are reasonable for a Texas fan to have.

They are telling themselves whatever they need to make themselves feel better about the game. If you look at individual match ups- texas will have problems scoring on LSU's defense, that is a fact. They will also have issues stopping LSU's run game. The passing game will dictate how bad LSU beats them by. 34-14 type game.

They will get humbled just like the canes did last year. And I will laugh.

"Because they have the most arrogant fan base in all of college sports." I have never been to a UT football game, but attended the Texas series at Alex Box last year and found that the fans were unfriendly and very pushy for visitors. By far the most unpleasant visitors I have seen at the Box.
