Looks nice, anyone try it yet?

This is Basin Lounge territory

I like the concept of this. I just hope the food is good

Parking is going to be an issue there if that lot is full. Place looks nice inside and Danny has always had good food wherever he has been.

Basin has 4 parking spots so it's double that.
Eta. I'll go soon and report back.

What's the story with this place? I was under the impression it was going to be a sports bar?
The area needs a solid sports bar.

That guy wouldnt know a sports bar if it fell from the sky and landed on him. Shoulda let Morten Andersen bring back the ol' Lakeside Morten's.

Not going until they take down that DeMarcus Cousins jersey.

"Sports restaurant" makes me skeptical.

It’s got the worst signage of any new construction concept I’ve ever seen

Place looks so generic. They need to fire their designer if they even hired one.

Those bright blue walls are terrible inside especially for a place that wants to be a sports bar since there is no team in the area with that color blue
ETA: Yes I realize the blue is because of the name but doesn't make it any better

the name of the place is Azul...

Hints why I said I realize that.
For a sports bar, it's a stupid name and I still don't like the walls. The name also does not convey a "sports restaurant" as he says.

The name conveys a Mexican food restaurant, but it’s a sports bar with wine cork bar tops ?
This seems like a poorly thought out restaurant despite the owner in the video insisting it isn’t.

My thoughts exactly. It's a neighborhood joint that is trying to cater to the sports junkies. I get it. if the food and service are good, the name nor walls will really matter but when I hear "Azul", I don't think of going hang out to watch a sporting event.

Fitz is excited:
"If ever there were a menu to set my heart aflutter, this is it. Kid food, as Tom calls such things. But even Tom would like this kid food. It will be a gourmet version of all the comfort things we all love, because the owner of this place hails from all the classiest great restaurants of New Orleans. In the kitchen will be expats from all those places. In a sports bar.
Azul, the longtime dream of Danny Millan (see the Fourth of July post on these pages), opens next week on the 18th. It is located exactly where it should be, on the corner of Harrison and West End in family-friendly Lakeview.
A quick look at the menu is thrilling. Spinach dip, hummus, pork eggrolls, empanadas, pretzel bites, croquettes, soft shell shrimp. Soft shell shrimp? Yes, Danny loves them and you must try them, he says.
Where have you ever seen a sports bar offering duck with a raspberry reduction? Alongside a kids menu featuring noodles with butter and parmesan cheese? Pork sliders, but also a double cut pork chop?
This menu is the culmination of a lifetime of serving people and knowing what they like. And doing it well. I’ll just have to talk him into throwing some cheese and bacon on those fresh-cut fries.
You can bet they’ll be a great wine and beer selection and interesting drinks. And famous patrons in the booth next to yours. Danny knows everyone."

I'm having trouble finding the menu online, seems their online presence is pretty non-existent. But, i remember seeing the menu somewhere a week ago and was not impressed by the offerings, seemed like standard fare stuff you could find anywhere. Maybe the guy does these items really well? Will give it a shot in the next month or so.
