Morgan fit had a historic landmark called “Swam Gardens” where the first Tarzan movie was filmed... they tore it down to make more little league fields... why???? I have zero clue.... Morgan city is a dump with zero industry and went from 18,000 to like 9,000 population.... YES that makes a difference.
No they didn’t. They cleared out enough space to build one field. The Swamp Gardens is still there. They even have a paved walking trail through there now. It’s nicer than its ever been.
And the population of MC proper is much more than 9k retard. Plus if you add in the total tri city area you’re close to 25k-30k

Again you have no idea what you’re talking about. Yes MC is shell of what it used to be, and there’s been a huge decline in the past 5-10 years with lots of business closing and what not, but there is still a lot of money between Patterson, Berwick and MC. And I just heard that Mararthon is moving into the old Shell yard,
With the river being dredged year round now, that will attract more businesses.

To be fair, the Dixie rules are better than LL. The 11-12 year old league playing closed bases is ridiculous.
Same length in Dixie. Unless you play OZone 11-12.
This team was picked years ago and have played together for years but they also still play their minimum rec league games to be able to field an all star team. It’s something most leagues are going to.
We meet next week to change Dixie to Little League in Gonzales.

Dixie 12’s play 46/60?

Little League sets the perimeters. We are trying to set ours (if we change) to EBR And Ascension. Little League gets your submission and sets it tho. It’s not really a district. It’s whatever is surrounding and depending on other Little League leagues. Also yes if you attend school on the area they set they can play.

My hometown hosted the Dixie Youth World Series when I was 12. Great times.

This is not a team fielded from a little league program as you know it. This is a hand selected group of all stars. They aren’t playing in mom & pop leagues before this stage
Yeah and the problem with this is the consolidation doesn’t seem to have an end.

No, Dixie 11-12 play 50/70 open bases with balks. 13-14 can play 54/80 or 60/90.

After 12, the kids that are good enough will start playing 60/90 at 13.
Playing 46/60 at 12 is just stupid.

Dixie 11-12 play 46/60 unless you play OZone.
Gonzales played 50/70 for regular season I think but for All Stars were 46-60 because they weren’t in the OZone All Stars.

So when this team is called Eastbank. Is this an all star team come from Metry, Bright, Cleary, Lakeshore, Girord, Etc or is it now an all star team of all of those all star teams. Much like the JPRD Babe Ruth.
Or did this have no affiliation with these playgrounds and do their own thing?

Man, Alabama must be really bad. They played two games and scored A run. They got eliminated in the losers bracket by WV. That same WV team lost to GA 23-0 the day before. ??

I remember teams in Dizzy Dean in Kenner, Dixie Youth in JPRD that would smoke any of the LLWS teams that I saw at the LLWS, except maybe the one with the 18 year old from NY.
This shite is so dumb.
Being allowed to take a lead doesn't make your league better.
Plenty of these kids play on top USSSA teams, just like the other leagues.
