What are the bullet point changes or additions to the present background checks?

One or both of these will be included:

1. 3 day or longer wait time. Leftists love them some delays with their background checks.

2. No more private sales without government involvement.

How many mass shootings (or shootings in general) would this have prevented. My guess is virtually none.

Exactly. I imagine one of the parties will put something ridiculous in the bill so the other side rejects it and they can use it for 2020.

So
1. What extra will be included? Health tests before you can buy? For everyone? Or just the inclusion of any mental health reports/diagnose that already exist?
2. If my dad wants to give me a gun, he can’t?

How could that possibly be monitored?

Not virtually. Exactly zero. It's a feel good measure that infringes the 2nd for no reason.

Exactly. But at least the politicians can say they “did something”.

What about loaning someone a gun? Can I loan someone a gun without a background check?

The left wants that first step. They'll take it from there incrementally...but they need that first step.

For sales that take place after the legislation, when you buy a firearm, the serial number is tied to you. If that serial number turns up in somebody else's possession and there's no police report or federal transfer form, you're in trouble.

100% registration, and they know that. That's the goal.

Wouldn't this really only come into play if that firearm was used in some sort of crime?

One would assume that if your firearm was stolen, you'd report it to the police, and the SN would show up as "stolen".
