Well, after searching across the entire country for a SX AWD and paying $1600 transport from MI to CA I ended up with a lemon that needs a full transmission replacement. Been in contact with Kia Consumer Affairs and we’re in a Kia paid rental at the moment while my case is resolved. I can’t even drive the car to smog and register. Please pray for me this is a painless process. The check engine light with transmission error popped up at 6 miles, they cleared it and it never showed up again so they sold it and it popped up for me at 62 miles after receiving the car at 52 miles. Any advice welcomed- this is unacceptable and unfathomable.

The new transmission came in but before that, Kia consumer affairs offered me 3 car payments as a courtesy but when they sent the offer it included a contract to release all Liability so I’d be stuck with this car and could never file as lemon suit which is basically extortion. So I didn’t sign it. The new transmission was installed with no success- the same issues showed up along with the same error code on mile 16 of the test drive. So the new transmission completely failed and I’m on day 22 and counting.
New tranny in and still same issues.

GTFO with that shite. Pray for you? For a bad tranny? God damn that's a first world problem if I've ever seen it.

Kias are bad cars. You can put as much makeup on a pig as possible, but it will still be a pig.
A car is not something that you can design and build in a few years and it will come out near perfect. You need decades of success, tested design process, supply chain, experience, that these Koreans don’t have yet.

Your thread title is a tranny, as in confusing about what you’re talking about.

Hyundai/Kia struggles with their larger cars.
We had a Genesis that was rendered completely useless by a lemon electrical system by about 45,000 miles - and that was after a new radiator, transmission, and about a dozen other things.

Didn't the Kia Soul have a problem with catching fire? I know a few people that have them and I think they finally did a recall.

Everyone I know with a KIA has had major issues before 100,000 miles. Then they had atrocious resale value to add insult to injury.
Avoid.
Avoid.

Shitty title.
Worse thread.
You suck at posting.
Likely the lemon was well deserved.

I'm pretty sure 3 car payments doesn't come close to paying to replace the transmission, right? Which imo should be the bare minimum expectation for buying such a defective product.
