Little known fact. The screenwriter was a lawyer and the court room procedure is spot on accurate. The movie is shown to law students at several schools as part of their course work before they graduate.

One of those rare movies where it knew what it wanted to do and then did it.
Fred Gwynne was amazing in that movie as the old school Southern judge playing the straight man to Joe Pesci.
