This. It's not because Les is a bad coach or a tough schedule. It's because KU has such a talent deficiency compared to other schools that expecting them to jump to bowl eligibility immediately is unreasonable. I hope I'm wrong and they surprise me this year, but I think it will take a few Les classes coming in to help make up the difference between KU and the rest of the Big XII.

Les Miles might not have an amazing offense but his guys are going to be tough as nails and play good defense. I can definitely see them pulling some upsets

Just watch, in 3 years Les will have a much more dynamic offense at Kansas than he ever had at LSU, and this board will lose their minds

We know you’d blow les but maybe you should go watch Kansas and see the talent they have before spouting off. And yes. This thread will be bumped by someone. Won’t be you though.

Going to run Pooka 40 times a game and play good defense.

But he has no talent on the lines, so it's going to be tough sledding for ole Pooka.

Would the Iowa model work at Kansas? Just a bunch of well-coached, corn fed white boys. Aren't going to be exciting to watch and won't ever really be elite, but average 7/8 wins a year.

It depends. Do the young men of Kansas have a want for victory?

5-7. I expect him to play OSU, OU and Texas super close (maybe win one of those as a signature win to push them to 500) and beat KSU.

It probably would. If you look at K-State, that's how Bill Snyder grew their program. Brought in a bunch of Kansas farm kids, they worked hard for him for a few years, and by junior or senior year, they were starters. They're bowl eligible almost every year with a random overachieving year thrown in here or there.

People who think Kansas is going 6-6 this season really demonstrate their ignorance of the situation- perhaps college football in general.

Kansas isn't a normal bad football team. They're historically bad. They didn't win a road game for a decade. They lose to small conference teams. Badly.

This isn't a "grab a new coach" and we'll be competing next season deal. Kansas winning 3 games would be improvement. Four victories would be phenomenal. Stop the 6-6 shite.

They won 3 games last year. They also had another 3 losses which were 1 TD or less.

6-6 is probably their ceiling though.

Everyone in Lawrence would be very happy with 3 wins this year.

Yes, they won three games. Those three wins were against Central Michigan (1-11, win over Maine), Rutgers (1-11, win over Texas State), and TCU.

The three one TD games were a loss to Nicholls State in OT, Texas (10 points in the last four minutes of the game to make it a seven point game), and K-State.

Your point is? Three wins is still three wins. No where did I say those three wins and three close loses were impressive, just that they were competitive in 6 games last year without a coach like Les. So if they were to be competive in 6 games again this year, 6-6 is a possibility. Not likely because the schedule might be a little tougher but also not 100% impossible.
