Will be there for a few days killing time while the wife attends a conference. What's good to eat?

You’ll hear a lot about Darrell’s—for good reason

Already planned on having the Darrell's special one day to see what the hype is about. I'll post a review..

I guess that way you’ll then be informed enough to know it’s way over-hyped.

I guess so. Maybe it will be like Johnny’s Pizza and far exceed the hype.

Side note, anybody been to Cest Bon in Mermentau lately? Thought about detouring by there on the way down. Been a few years since I’ve been but they used to have the best boiled shrimp on the planet..

If y'all make it to Golden Nugget try Vic & Anthony's.

I was never impressed by Darrell's. I have only been twice though.

Though I haven't been in about 5-6 years, Pujo St Cafe used to be pretty good. LINK

I go all the time. Everything's good there. I love the seafood gumbo and the burgers.

When they say jalapeños mayo, it’s literally just mayo and jalapeños. I thought it would have at least been minced or something

Seafood Palace is a staple that has been there for decades. If they have boiled crabs, get them.

Calla or Mazens is a nice sit down. Hacketts for a no frills cajun plate lunch that’s always excellent. Famous foods if you want cracklings or boudin. Cottons burgers and they also have very good fried shrimp. Crying Eagle has decent beer.
