This thread made me decide to go start up my generators. frick generators. If there's another piece of equipment that fails to start more than a generator, I haven't heard of it. They are the mechanical equivalent of trailer lights

KEEP AVGAS OR TRUEFUEL in it for storage and you won't have that problem anymore.

I crank mine once a month and put a load on it to make sure everything is working. I would rather have an issue when I have time to fix it if something was not working properly instead of needing it and it is not working properly. Also when I’m ready to turn it off after my monthly run, I take all the loads off of it and let it run unloaded for a couple of minutes and then close the fuel valve and let the engine run out of gas so no gas is left in the carburetor to gunk up the jet. I have had this generator for about seven years now and it starts on the first pull
