Because he doesn't care enough about the game from a historical perspective.

Previous accomplishments and sacrifices have no bearing on him.

Once he accomplishes more, hindsight may not be kind to him, when held up against previous ages.

But, hey, good luck to him.

Not all players care. I read an anonymous letter from a professional athlete that said 90% are in it for the money and don’t care about winning, history, etc
