It’s like a regular degree, especially at a brick and mortar.
Then I don’t see why people are complaining and acting outraged.

Agreed.
Especially when even most brick and mortar graduate schools have now started pushing online courses to compensate for the reality that many students today work full-time and are adults going back for continuing education requirements.

When you get an online degree does it say that it’s online or is it the same as getting one on campus?
I got my online degree from a state accredited school. It is no different from one earned by attending the brick and mortar classes. I don't put that it was online on a resume.
I wouldn't get one from the university of phoenix or anything like that.
ETA: I earned an associates from BRCC in Construction Management while I was on my tools. Ended up getting an office gig and going to LSU wasn't going to work with how they have their classes set up. I took about 70 hours at Mcneese online to finish up a BS while still being able to work full time. I received a pretty good pay hike automatically. BRCC was tougher than Mcneese online.

The brick and mortar university system is outdated anyways. With today’s technology you can have classes streamed online and there are apps to take proctored exams.

There were some teachers who recorded their class lectures and had weekly Skype conferences so that you could ask questions.

Seems like a HR degree.

Plenty of ROTC, and potential OCS folks get degrees in inter studies/general studies just to have a degree to get that commission.

Some corporations have a hard requirement of at least a bachelors degree even if not entirely related to the line of work given you've got real world experience.

A lot of govt jobs require a Bachelors degree. Doesn’t matter what it’s in.

The degree is bull shite but the pay increase is real

Do online degrees cost the same as their B&M university counterparts.

Very interesting. You have to have a helluva work ethic to do what you did.
I know this is a stupid question, but when you take tests, how do they ensure that you aren't using an open book, or having a friend answer the questions?

If they pay tuition then who cares.

They use a program called proctoru for a lot of exams. you pay 20 bucks and some foreign person watches you via webcam. your desktop is also locked down and they record what is on your screen. Before the test begins you have to show the room you are in on camera and around the computer. cheating is more trouble than it is worth.

Why would anyone waste their time or money on this shite? LSU is propping it up as some sort of great achievement! Unless it’s a hard science STEM degree it has zero business at a university.
I’m confused.. i cant tell if you’re more triggered by the fact that these are online degrees, or the fact that they are non-STEM degrees(?)
