I mean, this an esoteric sport. How many people have heard of the top mtt players in the world?

But schmo like usual? 5 of the past 8 winners were pros already. And Ryan Riess went on to become a really good player. Made a sick hero call at an EPT final table this year that shows you how tough the game really is now.

Not many compelling stories/players left with 61 left..

Damn, Dario Sammartino went from the 2nd player from the bottom of the list at #102 Day 5 at $860,000 after day 5

to #9 with 19,850,000 after day 6 Day 6.

I am pulling for him right now. He was on ESPN's featured table and seemed very gracious when he knocked Cunningham out of the tourney.

I had never heard of him. I don't follow poker like I used to. Never heard of Todd Brunson but saw his Dad play more times than I can count. They had another son of a player, the guy who won the main event in 2005. I remembered his dad but again had never heard or knew the son existed.

I'm not totally sure about this because ESPN switches tables but I think I was following all of these guys this week on the first night I started watching the tournament. Amazing if out of 35 players these guys were on the same table Monday or Tuesday of this week.

That one looked like it was a true misunderstanding. Though the way Ensan handled it will make me pull for him also.

The one later in the video where the guy called raise and then said he meant check was a straight crook. It wasn't his first time to that in the same tournament. They even told his opponent that he had done it before and he had a HUGE hand the other time also. EVERYONE was disgusted with the cheating guy.

Well if I ever knew of him I have totally forgotten. When I saw his name in the "notables" chip count at first I thought it was his dad. Then I remembered Doyle's name.

I remember Hellmuth, Negreanu, Phil Ivey, Moneymaker, Antonio, Scotty Ngyuen, Johnny Tran, Gus Hanson, etc.

I guess all of them were playing during the time that I was gung-ho on poker. I just don't remember a Todd Brunson.

I wasn’t criticizing. It just was weird you never heard of him. Since you said you used to follow. So, I was thinking that when you did he was in the game. Moneymaker is a one off champ.

Your memory is getting bad. JC Tran. Johnny Chan. But all them Asians look alike. ;)

Todd is one of those guys that if we were talking another sport, he would be a pro’s pro.

Been grinding since early 90s. Playjng high stakes cash.

You seem to know more of the tournament names.

Lots of real good cash players.

Btw, used to play against Hellmuth freshmen year of college. Dad was a prof at Madison.

Liked cards then, but far more, and easier money playing pool. Especially w my gf who was competent.

He is referring, I think, to Dario Minieri. Italian.

Wears a scarf at the table. Bracelet winner, early 20s.

He was big on Poker Stars in the late 90s. And on Ept.

Don’t know what he is doing now.
