too bad. Ill go with Greenwood next. Most accomplished player left. Foxen is the #1 mtt player in the world right now but Greenwood has twice the chips.

If not him Ill take Dapo Ajayi. Would love to see a more under the radar grinder take it down. He will definitely make the broadcast more interesting.

I mean, this an esoteric sport. How many people have heard of the top mtt players in the world?

But schmo like usual? 5 of the past 8 winners were pros already. And Ryan Riess went on to become a really good player. Made a sick hero call at an EPT final table this year that shows you how tough the game really is now.

A “pro” can be anyone that plays for a living. Whether they’re a good player or not.
I like the old school players myself, and most fans are familiar with them.

Nasty full house for Greenwood there versus Manole’s made straight. Greenwood up to 16.5 million. He’s got the chips to make a run now.

Damn, Dario Sammartino went from the 2nd player from the bottom of the list at #102 Day 5 at $860,000 after day 5

to #9 with 19,850,000 after day 6 Day 6.

I am pulling for him right now. He was on ESPN's featured table and seemed very gracious when he knocked Cunningham out of the tourney.

Sammartino is probably the only big name left. He's in a good position and a lot of the stacks are really close. He just needs to pick up some chips today and he has a good chance at the FT. Only 35 people left.

I had never heard of him. I don't follow poker like I used to. Never heard of Todd Brunson but saw his Dad play more times than I can count. They had another son of a player, the guy who won the main event in 2005. I remembered his dad but again had never heard or knew the son existed.

After Day 6:

1 Nicholas Marchington 39,800,000 United Kingdom
2 Hossein Ensan 34,500,000 Germany
3 Timothy Su 34,350,000 United States
4 Milos Skrbic 31,450,000 Serbia
5 Henry Lu 25,525,000 United States
6 Garry Gates 25,025,000 United States
7 Duey Duong 21,650,000 United States
8 Warwick Mirzikinian 20,700,000 Australia
9 Dario Sammartino 19,850,000 Italy
10 Kevin Maahs 19,550,000 United States
11 Michael Niwinski 18,900,000 Canada
12 Zhen Cai 18,275,000 United States
13 Luke Graham 16,300,000 United States
14 Enrico Rudelitz 15,800,000 Germany
15 Preben Stokkan 14,600,000 United States
16 Yuri Dzivielevski 13,750,000 Brazil
17 Viktor Rau 13,600,000 Austria
18 Nicholas Danias 11,550,000 United States
19 Hiroki Nawa 10,250,000 Japan
20 Zackary Koerper 10,075,000 United States
21 Daniel Charlton 9,725,000 United Kingdom
22 Mihai Manole 9,700,000 Romania
23 Marcelo Cudos 9,450,000 Argentina
24 Austin Lewis 9,350,000 United States
25 Mario Navarro 8,150,000 Spain
26 Oliver Bithell 8,075,000 United Kingdom
27 Robert Heidorn 7,625,000 United Kingdom
28 Christopher Ahrens 7,275,000 Germany
29 Corey Burbick 7,250,000 United States
30 Johnathan Dempsey 6,500,000 United States
31 Paul Dhaliwal 6,225,000 Canada
32 Christopher Barton 4,350,000 United States
33 Thomer Pidun 3,625,000 Germany
34 Alex Livingston 2,800,000 Canada
35 Steven Parrott 1,825,000 United States

I'm not totally sure about this because ESPN switches tables but I think I was following all of these guys this week on the first night I started watching the tournament. Amazing if out of 35 players these guys were on the same table Monday or Tuesday of this week.

9 Dario Sammartino 19,850,000 Italy
16 Yuri Dzivielevski 13,750,000 Brazil
20 Zackary Koerper 10,075,000 United States
23 Marcelo Cudos 9,450,000 Argentina

YuriD is still alive. Currently 16th in chips. Already has a bracelet win this year too.

Greenwood's bustout was pure sickness.

Check out this sportsmanship from Ensan: youtubelink

So definitely sweating Ensan.

The standard between elite player and pro is very wide. Maybe “Schmo” was a harsh term but I’d take the field. When one elite guy gets knocked out, you move on to the next one. None of them will win.

Why is that?

Doyle was in a lot of the highlights with Helmuth and Daniel Negreanu in the videos that came up with Ensan sportsmanship link above. I just saw him more in the last 30 minutes than I have his son EVER.

That one looked like it was a true misunderstanding. Though the way Ensan handled it will make me pull for him also.

The one later in the video where the guy called raise and then said he meant check was a straight crook. It wasn't his first time to that in the same tournament. They even told his opponent that he had done it before and he had a HUGE hand the other time also. EVERYONE was disgusted with the cheating guy.

Because Todd was a pro from the early 90s.

Bracelet winner. Father son winners. That is talked about. Has been on tv many times in big events. Like Poker Stars, Against Chan and the magician.

That was back in mid aughts.

And is co author w dad on super sys 2.

Todd is obviously not as well known as Doyle. But if you follow poker, or did, he isn’t some unknown

Big time cash player. Sat at his table once. Guy is a serious Nit.

Well if I ever knew of him I have totally forgotten. When I saw his name in the "notables" chip count at first I thought it was his dad. Then I remembered Doyle's name.

I remember Hellmuth, Negreanu, Phil Ivey, Moneymaker, Antonio, Scotty Ngyuen, Johnny Tran, Gus Hanson, etc.

I guess all of them were playing during the time that I was gung-ho on poker. I just don't remember a Todd Brunson.

I wasn’t criticizing. It just was weird you never heard of him. Since you said you used to follow. So, I was thinking that when you did he was in the game. Mid aights and he is in grand finals. remember Hellmuth, Negreanu, Phil Ivey, Moneymaker, Antonio, Scotty Ngyuen, Johnny Tran, Gus Hanson, etc.

Moneymaker is a one off champ.

Your memory is getting bad. JC Tran. Johnny Chan. But all them Asians look alike. ;)

It’s cool.

Todd is one of those guys that if we were talking another sport, he would be a pro’s pro.

Been grinding since early 90s. Playjng high stakes cash.

You seem to know more of the tournament names.

Lots of real good cash players.

Btw, used to play against Hellmuth freshmen year of college. Dad was a prof at Madison.

Liked cards then, but far more, and easier money playing pool. Especially w my gf who was competent.

I don't remember a scarf. There was more than one Dario.

This is Dario Sammartino

He is referring, I think, to Dario Minieri. Italian.

Wears a scarf at the table. Bracelet winner, early 20s.

He was big on Poker Stars in the late 90s. And on Ept.

Don’t know what he is doing now.
