Where the frick do you idiots get this from??? Mississippi beat them two years in a row. How’d that work out for them? Prior to1/9/12, LSU had beaten them two times in a row as well. Did we dominate them in talent recruiting after we had beaten them two years in a row? Doesn’t appear so.

I never said beating them 1 time and they’ll run off 3 straight championships. This team is close. Prior to 1/9, LSU/Bama games were a toss up. Since then, Bama has been in LSU’s head. How many times since 1/9 has LSU gone into the Bama game undefeated? They lose that game and blow another game or 2 after that (post Bama has been much better under O). If LSU could’ve won 2 of the previous 6 regular season games against Bama, we’d all be looking at them a totally different way. May have had a playoff appearance or 2 thrown in there. May have kept a few DL’s where they are so thin.

history shows that the tigers were always just good enough to be dangerous, but never good enough to dominate. They have, and always will be a 2-3-4 loss team. with a rare exception.

CoachO is absolutely on point saying beat Bama is priority 1.

The scrubs who argue otherwise are just being contrarians for the sake of being contrarions. Any idiot could do it.

The coaching staff and Jarrett lee himself wanted no parts of him qb’ing that team for the championship and everyone’s knows that. Anyone that thinks he would’ve turned around that game is delusional. See regular season game LSU vs bama 2011

The issue is that a huge contingency of lsu fans irrationally and implausibly think it is appropriate to hold Alabama/saban as the standard for success. You are ASKING for disappointment if you use that as your standard. Saban has built a dynasty that will probably never be replicated again. It is asinine to think any other coach can simply do what he has done.

It's unrealistic, pie-in-the-sky bullshite.

10 wins a year is the fair, right standard.

Truth...

and more Truth

We have to play them every year, and sometimes twice to win it.

No other team (outside of the SEC west) has the kind of schedule we have. Where would we be this year with Clemson's schedule?

Lastly, LSU fans need to decide something. Do we want to schedule all these tough games outside of the SEC, or do we want a playoff friendly schedule? Cant have it both ways.

Unanimously?

Pretty much unanimous that the Jimbo Fisher contract is the worst in the history of college football.

$75,000,000? !0 years? All money guaranteed? C'mon, man.

I’ve been watching LSU football since the mid-sixties, and I’ve witnessed six seasons better than last season - two were Saban’s, two were Miles’, one was Archer’s first year (really Arnsparger’s), and one was McClendon. So, I don’t know - it’s not obvious that our future will be worse than our past.

How is it unanimous? Because one sports writer stated in his opinion that it is a bad contract? Or because a lot of LSU fans criticized it because they had their feelings hurt over the fact that Jimbo went to A&M over LSU?

I’m not saying the contract is for sure a good one or bad. And I’m sure as hell as not defending Jimbo; but only time will tell if the contract was good or bad. In year 1 he surpassed expectations, as they were pretty low going in. If he ends up bringing them championships (or even just 1), then everyone will hail it as a success. If A&M sees no real improvement; then it is an obvious failure.

But you, nor anyone else, can make that determination at this point.

Interesting that you would say this the year after we exceeded expectations and in a current year where I think we have a real chance at the playoffs. Returning all sec qb, almost all of our o line back, most of our defensive front back and our 2 most impactful players on the front are seniors. All sec junior safety. Experienced and well coached linebackers.
..I mean the biggest questions I have are the experience of rb and cb. And those are the positions we got multiple 5 stars to replace what we lost. Emory, smith, stingley, Hampton and jones. I just really disagree. I think qb wr connection will be phenomenal this year, similar to metts senior year.
