re: LSU should dump nike

Honest question. Why would the American flag offend these blacks that you speak of? I have a lot of black friends that have weighed in on the matter and they feel ashamed of this disrespect. Again, should not be political. This country is the greatest in the world. It gives these young blacks as you say the opportunity to become rich. This is just absurd, and yes it is being turned political by liberals...when it shouldn't be at all. It's all about dividing the country, sadly. It should be about pride, loyalty, respect, and values.

Your experience is anecdotal. Black athletes generally look at CK/kneeling/etc. favorably. This is a hard line against that, it will not go over well. The media and coaches recruiting against us will only make it WAY worse.

Solution: don’t say or do shite. Fight like hell to keep politics out of recruiting at all costs. Stick to football stuff, check the political virtue signaling at the door. Dropping nike is an absolutely horrendous idea. For so many reasons. Offers very very little upside in the big picture.

And that’s not even mentioning our gear will look like shite. Like it or not, Nike is worlds better than the competition.

Ahh, so it's ok for that POS Kap to turn it political, but true Americans with values, pride, and patriotism for our great country should just sit back and take it? Complete bs. There are many levels that protesting can be carried out, but when you start disrespecting the flag of the country that is providing these kids with the greatest opportunity of their life, that is sad. But, that is what is being taught now. Sad.

No amount of screaming at one another is going to change what the other party think is what’s being debated. Doesn’t matter where you are on the issue, that’s the framework.

So going back to that recruiting pitch: you want Ed O to tell black families to stop worrying about racism and embrace patriotism??? Maybe some 2 star desperate for a big time offer would go for that but you are beyond helpless if you don’t understand how that would hurt our ability to compete.

Umm yes.

I agree and would be down for LSU to boycott Nike, but one point that cant be understated is that nearly all of our athletes are probably liberals and would more than likely disagree with the premise to do this.
