I was running MWD tools at that time.

Oh ok you’re a MWD hand. Ok I was only up on the rig floor if I was relieving out a roughneck to eat or I was helping the drill crew do something out of the ordinary. Other than that. I was chasing that headache ball on one of those Auger cranes. I probably didn’t see you much because you were dealing with the AD, Driller, Toolpusher, or Company man. I stayed away from them unless I had to be there.

I was at Freshwater City Father's day weekend. Shell used to fly us out of PHI in Patterson. It was around a 2 hour helicopter ride from there to Auger.

You can say that shite again. The safety audit they did on us to become a certified vendor was insane

Those are not used in the GoM to my knowledge. Very common in the North Sea.
I'm pretty sure the Ensco 8500 had free fall boats, but that's a smaller semi-sub.

I did my BOSIET training in Robert, and they didn't sound too happy on how OPITO limited our water training. IIRC, the rest of the world is more rigorous, and they wanted to teach to those standards

BESSE has had their hands full the last month with offshore oil deaths. This is the the 3rd one in about a months time. More regulations on the horizon.

BSEE doesn't regulate the life boats on floating facilities. The USCG has the jurisdiction of this incident. Aside from that though it has been a rough month offshore. This actually brings the total up to 4 deaths, two separate incidents about a month ago, each with one death, and now this.
