What the hell happened to America?

I was watching the Kennedy/Nixon debates on YouTube the other night and this thing on my TV tonight is like a Jerry Springer episode compared to that. It’s not even in the same stratosphere. This is just terribly depressing.

Bread and circus. Americans are the most entitled, selfish and idiotic group of people. We are petulant children who have to be reminded how great we are every 5 minutes. We'd rather watch a trash celebrity show than read about history, politics or philosophy, and our politicians pander to the lowest common denominator. We are doomed as a country and have been for some time.
