This is like issuing a tsunami warning after the wave has sucked everything back out to sea.

How many of these are accidental...meaning some average Joe took the wrong pill at lunchtime and died.
Otherwise, this is just druggies doing their thing. It’s sad they don’t value life. Isn’t this one of those ‘play stupid games and win stupid prizes’ situations?

That’s kinda the situation most of the time a lot of these kids think they are buying oxy but it’s actually fentanyl. It’s sad when you can think of a handful people you grew up with or used to hang out with that are dead from fentanyl.

I know a guy who OD’d in my town yesterday. Found dead in a parking lot with two other guys in the car still running, all dead from Roxies and Fentanyl. It’s a terrifying world
Not really.. just don’t do drugs... taking out the trash imo

I made the mistake of clicking on Louisiana and seeing the stats for unmarried mothers, teen pregnancies, heart disease, etc. Our state is a hell hole compared to a lot of the country.
I've been all over this country and I can tell you that Louisiana is really bad, but it isn't the worst. The worst is West Virginia and it's the worst by a fair margin.

Just seems like Darwin doing work. Don't do dope....don't get dead. Sounds reasonable to me.

I have never been "high" off an opioid. Well maybe twice in the '70's with a Quaalude and an episode when I was recovering from ACL/MCL knee surgery at the age of 15.
This is an important distinction. Addicts want to get high, those with infrequent pain just want the pain to subside. Legally I can get a prescription for hydrocodone, 30 will last me more than a year.
An addict would abuse this drug to the point where it would last a week.
Is the problem, the drug or the doctor or the person?
My two cents. Fifty years ago when I watched the clock to get an injection of Demerol at the age of 15, I could be an addict. I still remember the doctor Monday morning, yelling at the nurses. Even though he had prescribed "pain medicine as needed".
I was cruising.

Being fat kills a lot more people every single day than this. Why is that not considered an emergency epidemic?
