What's some of the good spots in Colorado to take a anniversary trip to. Thinking Colorado springs, Denver, Vail, Beaver Creek areas. Will be next month in July

Why would you consider any of those places in Colorado? The Springs and Denver are just cities and unremarkable at that. Beaver Creek in the summer is deader than fried chicken. Vail will take you all of an afternoon to see the village then what?

I’ll assume you wanna just drive around some and sightsee but stay in a hotel with access to restaurants and shops.

If money is no object, you listed Vail, go to Aspen. More budget friendly will be Steamboat or Crested Butte. Can fly into any pretty much or rent a car from dia and be there in under 5 hrs.

Haven't been to Colorado before. Those were just some places that I have heard of before. How is Aspen? What's to do there

Look into staying in estes park and visit Rocky Mountain national park over a couple days. It's beautiful there and less than a 2 hour drive from the denver airport

What activities do you want to do?

- hiking
- mountain biking
- rafting
- fishing
- peak bagging
- hot springs
- driving
- art
- breweries
- fine dining
- spas
- shopping
- admiring scenery from the car
- admiring scenery from the patio/balcony

Are you looking for heavy outdoors or light outdoors?

Big city, small town?

Big baller budget or moderate budget?

Adventure or romance?

Crowds or quiet?

If you can provide a few more details about what you want to do, your budget, and preference for posh vs laid back you will probably get some quality advice. Colorado has something for everyone. Some might be in heaven spending a weekend in Leadville or Salida while others prefer Aspen or Vail.

The only right answer is Telluride.

Went to a place called Dillon Reservoir while I was there at Red Rocks. What a great little town. Couple hours from west Denver

Everywhere we went in Colorado was awesome.

Fort Collins and Estes Park

If you're going to do Colorado Springs I would go to the Broadmoor resort and spa and maybe take a day trip to see the Royal Gorge

Also forgot to mention, we are going to be making it a road trip. Going to spend a couple nights in Dallas as well. We enjoy a good road trip

So if you're coming from the south I would hit up crested Butte (wildflower season is amazing there), then spend a night in CO springs at the resort and then a couple of days in the Ft. Collins/Estes Park area. You can skip Denver. It's just like most big cities

We stayed in Vail and that was kind of our point to do other things from and it worked out great.

We made this road trip last summer and came up from the south. Spent a night inside Masa Verde national park (cliff Indians) then drove up to Telluride. Great town, limited people because it is a long way from Denver. Lots of great whitewater rafting as you get around Breck.

Stick with towns that started off as mining towns, they have a lot more character

Keystone Wine and Jazz Fest next month. We'll be there with a small group from Denver for my GF's bday. Stay around the corner in Frisco or Breck. Keystone isn't really a town, more of a ski village at the base of a mountain and not much else. Uber/Lyft runs between those 3 close towns regularly.

We stayed in Breck one summer and had a blast! Plenty of restaurants and shopping. Did a horseback ride and rafted the Arkansas River.

If you’re driving, why not spend a couple of days in and around CSprs and then head up to the resorts just west of Denver?

You can also stay in Boulder and use that as a jumping off spot to head into Rocky Mtn NP.

Breckenridge would be a good spot. Several other towns/resorts to explore within 30 minutes, including Vail.

Aspen and Telluride would be my other 2 suggestions
