Never have I been to so proud to start a thread. This is fantastic by Legal Insurrection about the courtroom as the verdict was being read:

My favorite line! lolololol: "And surprisingly, the jury decided fairly quickly, with only about two hours of deliberation. Some theorized that the jury knew what they wanted to do on this immediately when they were sent to their deliberation room, but took some extra time because they wanted to finish their court-paid pizza lunch."

It was that big, bigger than anyone had expected. The added punitive damages was $33,223,500, charged to Oberlin College. That was $33 million in damages added on to the $11.2 million they had already awarded the small business family and its owners as compensatory damages.

Here is the dean that screwed her own university.

I hope the jury verdict included the cost of the pizza as well.

The good guys do win sometimes. It seems not very often but it’s nice when they do.

The Gibson's do not deserve anywhere near that much money

Her title should be "former dean" but I bet you she keeps her job...
LMAO, glad someone finally punched these fricks in the mouth...

You never serve a jury lunch or dinner if you want a quick verdict.

It's amazing she hasn't already been fired. Tells me that the University agrees with her actions.

the university 100% agrees with her. Hence , why she doesn't appear to even look troubled in the picture. I would speculate there is some leftist slush fund set up to pay off the damages......

So then...

Again, I think it goes without saying that it is an opinion. Based on the information provided, the amount of the damages are hard to justify. It's nothing new. Happens in these cases, especially personal injury, all the time.

Oberlin College's endowment is $887.4 million.
They will easily survive, the question is though, will they change behavior and will other colleges follow suit?
