Worst governor of my lifetime, and there was some serious competition.

Corporate welfare. Dems cannot get excited about this project and should shame the Governor.

New Orleans. North Louisiana is desperate for economic development, jobs, but we keep getting ignored.

I bet ! He actually gave a shite about the people in the state ! Doesn't he know LA politicians are meant to be bigoted and backward. Dam libtards and their education

He gave money to support a specific company. Otherwise he would have proactively pushed for the specific training in hopes of luring this company or one like it. The deal was made to get them here as part of negotiations.

They didn’t ask me about taxes, they didn’t ask me about the hurricane risk-reduction system after Katrina—they asked about higher education
And they still came? Was he using Trump's magic wand?? I'm guessing they didn't ask about NO's S&W Board.
That's great for New Orleans and all but how about putting some effort into other parts of the state?

To land the deal, Louisiana Economic Development offered DXC an incentive package valued at about $115 million.

In an exclusive interview with Business Facilities at the governor’s office in the state capitol in Baton Rouge, Gov. Edwards said that DXC’s biggest concern was access to skilled workers—and an assurance that Louisiana could keep producing them.
“They didn’t ask me about taxes, they didn’t ask me about the hurricane risk-reduction system after Katrina—they asked about higher education,” the governor recalled.
this is destined to work out smoothly

The DXC project was one of the crown jewels of an influx of projects that have made Louisiana a high-tech leader and have fueled a surge in personal wages (LA had the second-highest percentage increase in wage growth in the U.S. during Q2 2018).

That's how I know this "article" is publicity bullcrap for JBE.
If they're looking for skilled workers and good higher education, they're in the wrong state. And that's on top of being completely derelict in asking about what impact local and state taxes would have on their business model and also asking about flood protection for a possible location.
