Is he moving the family there or just time on:time off rotation? Young and no family, I would be all for it. With a family, I would have to decline. All the money in the world doesn’t make up for your wife being stoned for wearing a bikini.

Too many cons to list. Tax free money is about the only upside that I see. That said, there is nothing that could convince me to move to the Middle East

Only 85k is tax free. He’s paying taxes on anything after that. Saudi sucks, but if he can gut it out, it can be a life changing event.

Tax free means he is going to be a resident in Saudi. So that'll be 11 months out of the US & he can visit for 1 month.

Tell him to ask about his life insurance policy through his company or any other policies he might have. I was offered an oil field job in Kuwait and if I was to take it, my life insurance was voided the time I was out there because it was so dangerous.
