I have no problem with metric in some instances. But for everyday shite like MPH, yards, feet, gallon, who gives a shite? If you're a scientist or engineer you use metric professionally anyway. The rest of us don't need it.

Ever worked on an american car where the bolts alternate between sae and metric? That's always fun.
It's also fun when you're building a house. What's half of 17 1/4? Okay, now quadruple that.
Now what's half of 44 mm? Now quadruple that.
Which is easier and more intuitive?

It's not that big of deal to go back and forth and use the system that is convenient for your particular situation.
Just a pain in the arse, nothing more. I'd prefer metric generally just because of the ease of scaling up units, but I'm also more familiar with imperial in day to day life. So it's a wash.
FWIW, fahrenheit > celsius
