If so it it worth an hour to drive and see it. I know the critics slammed it, but sometimes the audience see it different.

Depends. How much of an X-Men fan are you and what are your other options?

I saw it. It’s okay.

Hour each way? No movie is worth that.
Hour total? Depends on the theater.

One of my coworkers watched it last night and said it was horrible. I have no idea how good he is at judging movies. Take that as you will.

Godzilla agrees.

FWIW, Dark Phoenix is currently at 22% critics and 65% audience.

65% audience is still pretty bad. Godzilla is like 89% audience. Pretty big difference.

I personally enjoyed it as an action comic book movie. It wasn't perfect or as good as Logan or some of the other movies, but the last 20-30 mins alone were worth the price of admission for me. Wont spoil but it was intense action and you get to see what the mutant powers could really do to someone similar to Wolverine fricking people up in Logan.

The trailer looked like the preview of a TV show. Like that old show Charmed or something. Horrible trailer.

It was ok. I felt it was really rushed without enough development of the story. We didn't need character development, but some of the choices seem out of place for the characters. But overall it was not bad, it just was not very good.

Don't listen to the reviews, this is a top 3 X-Men movie. There's a fight towards the end that's easily the best action sequence in any X-Men movie. Jennifer Lawrence is the only bad part and she's not in it much. Sophie Turner was ok. Its quite a bit darker than the Marvel movies. I liked this way more than I expected.

This matches up with my thoughts of the movie. The last portion of the movie made it worth seeing. Magneto and Nightcrawler!

When this far, might as well finished it. It is a good enough comic movie but it is shite compare to the past. I am surprise that they have a Marvel movie budget but they roll out Superman Return caliber movies.

They honest to god could use so many cool stuff, the Shi'ar but no they didn't. Heck they could have introduce the Shi'ar early on. Heck they could have done Galdiator but...nope... they settle for some Skrulls.

Why have the special effects gotten worse as the series has progressed?

You live an hour from a theater? You need to get yourself a jailbroken Fire Stick

I've thought about that too. X-Men could have been the first comic book to go into space and expand the SciFi horizons before Guardians or Avengers, but instead they got stuck trying to make Jennifer Lawrence and Michael Fasbender the main protagonists and hammering the discrimination theme. They just had so many more storylines to draw from if they'd wanted to.
