Rumor: FF7 Remake Playable Demo right after E3

We all know that Sony is skipping out on E3 this year.
There's some compelling evidence that they will drop a PSN playable demo of FF7:R right at the time E3 is finished.
Square has Sony's timeslot this year.
This would fall in line what they did with XV.
Also another rumor is that the game is only split into two full price games. One ends right after *that* death, and the second game starts there.
AND apparently a form of ATB is still in the game. You attack with small attacks to build the ATB gauge, then you hit triangle to perform heavy attacks once the gauge is full.
Limit Breaks are still there.
Summons (just cutscenes just like original, not controllable) are here, including at least one new one.
Materia returns, and is visible on the weapon models themselves.
*that* cross dressing scene is still in the game.
Yuffi and Vincent will not be optional.
Most of this is from a leak

The Final Fantasy VII Remake saga has been long and arduous, with plenty of juicy video game industry drama along the way. But recently, things seem to have been going well. So well, in fact, that according to a trustworthy game journalist, Square Enix already has a playable demo ready to go, possibly for E3.

Square has some big announcement. They're projecting huge revenue this fiscal year and have no big projects set to release during it.

Square taking Sony's slot and posting FF7 all over social media tells me we are getting FF7:R before 2019 is over.
I wonder if any of the Square/Marvel Avengers stuff might slip in as well?

That's really the only other option. I think that game may be farther out, because that team didn't get the Avengers game in full development until Shadow of Tomb Raider finished, afaik.
We'll find out at E3 though!

I find it funny that so many will piss and moan that Nintendo is being a lazy rehash company by making a new Mario or Zelda game (that are often quite different from the previous versions) but then Square remakes their classic RPGs and they suddenly get the biggest video game boners ever.

I would hope riots occur if this happens.
Why have one full game when you can have two half games for twice the price!

Rumor has it the first part of Final Fantasy VII: Remake is the same size as Final Fantasy XIII. So that's 50-60 hours worth of gameplay if true. Not exactly a half game.

It would officially be the first 2019 PS4 release I'd actually be excited about.

Semantics.
When it is a remake of a game and contains half the story line of the original, it sure as hell feels like a purposeful attempt at a ripoff no matter what.
Like who is honestly going to buy the first half and then not get the second half? Or buy the second half without having gotten the first?
This just smacks as the next frontier of video game carny trickery pricing.
If they need to charge $120 for the game to be worth their while to make, then fricking just charge that.
The lengths game publishers go through to mask their actual prices is beyond absurd at this point.

So they are going to pad the game with things originally not intended to be in it? Or more mini games and card games? Or a chocobo racing league? Or will there be underdeveloped story points that they decide to stretch out?
I love FF like the next person, but this is a cash grab.

I would hope so too. How embarrassing would that be?

It's really easy to see why they are doing it.
The PS1 game was massive in it's own right. To do that on a modern platform would make this game HUGE. This was the main reason they kept shying away from doing this.
It was just next to impossible to put that much content in a current gen game. There's no way you could fit all that into a single game. It would be bigger than the Witcher 3. People forget how big Gaia actually is. Midgar itself was an entire game really. Then the world opens up entirely. They are also fleshing things out that weren't in the original and adding content to make the world feel better.
So to make it work and get funding for the entire thing, they said early on it would be divided into parts. Most people thought 3 parts but it's now looking like two parts.
People pay for COD yearly at $60, Madden, NBA2K, EVERY YEAR at full price for basically roster updates or different gun and perks.
One of the GOAT games, completely remade into current gen is well worth the price of two games if you are going to get 100+ hours out of it.

Damn right. I said on here years ago that I would happily pay $100 for a remastered FF7 before it was a reality. The way it looks now, what's another $20? Bring that shite on.

Get out of here with your reasonable take.

What the hell are you even talking about? Who complains about new Zelda or new Mario games?

Yeah not sure I’ve ever seen someone bitch about a Zelda release
