Or you can pay a ton more in taxes so that we have a military capable of fighting China

We spend more than the next ten largest countries combined when it comes to military spending right now.

If we cant take on the military of China right now, we have a spending problem not a budget problem.

War isnt won with just numbers. The US has superior weaponry. The US also has elite armed forces in the Army, Navy, and Marines.

but that's just it. you aren't paying "a little more." it's a lot more for American products and American quality.
I challenge you to buy 100% American for one week. First, you probably can't. Second it would be insanely expensive.

There was no mention in the official goals of the 301 tariffs of cheap Chinese labor.

It is not one of the issues of the trade war.

There was hardly a mention of jobs in the USA.

They too are not the issues of the trade war despite Mr. Trump's stump speeches.

uh, the whole plot to snare US businesses was in order to steal US technology

So yeah, they will eventually go to war with us, when their technology is roughly equivalent. Because they have plenty of unwilling bodies to throw in

o China does in fact rip the US off in conjunction with US brands being complicit by paying much lower wages than if they made their product here in the states.

What I have not seen brought up is the fact that these companies utilize Chinese sweat shops to make their products that are then shipped to the US.

So True. Also lets make our stuff here even tho it costs a little more, our standard of living will allow us to pay a little more. It will have a ripple effect. Americans will have the jobs so they can make a living and pay taxes as well. Big corporations are only out for higher profits. They could care less about American workers. I work for one and I know that they could care less about me. They also pay for the propagandists to spew this out to the public. So yes I am for tarriffs and there if no better time to even the playing field than now while our economy is kicking arse.

The problem is that we strangle small business and middle business owners with regulations and taxes. Let them make their living and create jobs. Once, if, they make it big, maybe they are willing to give some on costs etc. I’m not advocating to tax the 1 percent , never will. But frick these corporations using Chinese slave labor then selling it for who knows how much markup. Can’t wait for this iPhone to die. Speaking of hypocritical liberals ... Apple is the worst. No good cock suckers

NIKE has come out and said that the price of their shoes could go up 100% due to tariffs.

So a 25% tariff leads to a doubling in price?

Sounds like Nike is just looking for an excuse to raise prices on an already overpriced brand

Interesting story about China. I have purchased 2 items (at separate times) not knowing they were coming from China. After confirmation of my order, I waited. Nothing. I tried to write to the seller and was given some sort of shipping thing to discovery they were coming from China and should expect them in 6-8 weeks.

I went to Paypal and cancelled my order. Paypal refunded my order both times. Funny thing, the products still arrived weeks later. They were incredibly poor quality.

Now I research before buying anything not from Amazon or brick and mortar.
