Tatum will still be the #3 option if he comes here.

I disagree he’ll be the #3. But why does that matter
Posted on 5/22/19 at 7:22 pm to DeionDeion
Taking ego into consideration. But Tatum would essentially be stuck here for a while so it doesn’t matter.
We need wings that can shoot around Zion. Tatum is that.

Tatum above Ayton for sure but after Tatum who is this better guy? i don't think there is one
plus we'd get the #6 which could turn into something. this is a 3-pick draft so it's like
Tatum
#2/3
Ayton
this talk about mithcell robinson over Ayton is silly. he's going to develop 3 point range in time and is the full package from a big. i imagine his passing is going to improve a lot with the right staff

Robinson wouldnt be the main haul of an AD trade either, but
Mitchell Robinson led all rookies in the following statical categories in 2018-19:
* PER
* Box Plus/Minus
* Win Shares
* Blocks
* True Shooting Percentage

I can see it but that's big assumption. Even so it took the Griffin, AD, Vucevics of the league a long time to have any semblance of a consistent shot from long distance

Ayton showed he had pretty good range this year

oh he had a great year and i wouldn't be sad to get him, but he's not on ayton's level. we can disagree on Ayton's eventual skill level, but it will be much higher than Robinson's. he's a run/jump guy exclusively

he got a lot better as the year went on and it's easy to be bad on D on a shite team with unstable coaching
i watched him a lot b/c of fantasy
yes an elite wing would be better, but there aren't any outside of Tatum that we can get in these trades (and we could get a potential elite wing prospect from the Knicks)
a Barrett/Robinson and some other throw in like DSJ or Knox is better than the Phoenix offer, but i just don't know if that's legit on the table (esp if KD goes to LAC)

Didn’t say Robinson > Ayton
Said I’d rather Robinson as a piece along with Barrett over Ayton as a main piece
Yes it’s a 4 player draft which is why the 6th pick isn’t a thing

Just as much so as it is to get buckets when the other team has already ran you out of the building

And who is this undisputed 4th pick?

yeah if you're some volume guy like Kobe, which doesn't apply to Ayton. he was severely underused last year
i am not saying Ayton is the #1 guy. i think Tatum still is
i just don't know if Tatum is offered. i terms of players, Ayton is clearly the #2 current NBA player-asset. yeah wings are better but we only have 1 option (in terms of actual players)
Posted on 5/22/19 at 8:23 pm to TeddyPadillac
No one in particular just leaving it open based on the law of averages. I’m a Darius Garland guy myself
Posted on 5/22/19 at 8:25 pm to Lester Earl
As of now the tier of players below 3 seems to be fairly wide.
Could be Garland, Hunter, Culver, or someone else. And if the tier isn’t that well defined, then the 4th pick isn’t worth significantly more than the 6th.

Shai is in my opinion. Although It would take a perfect world for LAC, a deal with them is still more likely than one with Phoenix
Also why in your opinion has a guy like KAT not led his team to more wins? Does that tell you anything about the impact or lack thereof of today’s nba big man? Even one that can stretch?
24/12/3 and 50/40/85 are insane. He’s in year 4, doesn’t miss games, and that franchise has been stagnant

Look at the rest of that roster they have to work with.
Wiggins and Dieng are making huge money to play like shite.

When you scout players for a living, sure it is worth more,

their biggest problem is overpaying and over-relying on a wing that was supposed to be elite (Wiggins)
i'm not saying bigs > wings b/c of this, but they suck b/c of wiggins sucking
and just to use them as a comparison, would you rather KAT or Wiggins? that's kind of where we're at if Tatum isn't available (an elite big man prospect or a meh wing)
