Aranda's future as a HC

I think this year's defense is going to turn out to be the most dominant Aranda has ever had, so he'll be an even hotter commodity after this season. He can be picky, but eventually a Power 5 offer will come knocking that's too sweet to pass on, hopefully later than sooner.
In the meantime, it's nice to know that LSU has the best DC in the country (better than Venables IMO), regarded as one of the most coveted up-and-coming future HCs.

I tend to think that Aranda would only leave Baton Rouge if:
A) He had doubts about Ed Orgeron’s future with Woodward
B) He felt like there was a ceiling at his current role
C) A Power 5 head coaching vacancy caught his attention (Iowa State, Ole Miss, USC, etc.)
D) All the above

Doubts about O's future with Woodward might be an adequate reason to stay in BR.

?
If he had doubts he should stay to try to become HC here. I would think the exact opposite would be the case

I think Woodward's the type to make a big-name hire though, and may want a proven HC with experience.

i think aranda will be a great hc, but i want him to prove himself somewhere before coming back home to LSU.

O hit a home run hire when he got Joe Brady who is basically an OC. I have faith in him getting a good DC when the time comes.

Did you support the hiring of O?

there is a lot more important aspects to being a successful HC than just being a great OC or DC. Probably top of the list is being a great recruiter. Secondary aspects would having a personality that players want to play for and coaches want to coach with for whatever reason. Helps to be comfortable with the media and in front of the camera. Being a motivator, an organizer, a leader, it helps to be a people person (though not a necessity apparently for Saban. If your a good enough recruiter none of the other things really even matter).
NOt saying Aranda wouldn't be good as a HC, but being a great DC is not the most important trait by far. Does he even want to be a HC?
if he is going to move up it seems being a NFL DC would be a better fit for him.

I’m not sold his introverted personality will be a fit at a big school . I guess he will be the one to decide that.

if Aranda has asperations of being a HC he should probably start somewhere where he will be in less of a pressure cooker than at a power 5 school. If he finds it is not for him he can always go back to being a DC

And we know this at this point in time how?

Look, its the the weekly I don't like Orgeron so i will start a back door thread about replacing him.

Should not come into play.
If this defense is dominant, there is many reasons to be hopeful that the offense takes a few strides forward. Both of those things should mean this is a very very good season. A season that could cement Orgeron as the head coach at LSU for some time.

All I know is that he will command a lot of freaking money working under Coach Eaux. LSU's progress since Eaux took over will be spread amongst all the coaches and staff.
That is why Tommie Robinson turned down an NFL assistant job this offseason and Kevin Coyle became the head coach of a professional football team after being an analyst for the Eaux.

nope. he had one solid year last year. he has one good win.
i'm pulling for him because we hired him, but we need to make some progress this year.
we can hire just about anyone to win 9 games most years and get 10 every now and then.

Hiring is a lot of time all about opportunity. You let him go "prove himself somewhere before coming back" and next thing you know there's big time CFB openings all over the country, or NFL come calling and now it's a lot harder than him making the transition from DC to HC at LSU
