I'm waiting to hear about these great qualifications that the current HC has that Aranda doesn't have.

im sure it had nothing to do with him being an nfl coordinator and a coordinator in cfb.

before 2016 Coyle's resume was vastly better than O's resume.

And was never a head coach until AFTER he was an analyst for the LSU head coach.

Fricking gets on my nerves that these guys think they have the right to talk down about Aranda, as if he's somehow inferior to the current coach in terms of qualifications

Who exactly is talking down Aranda?

Because there are people in this thread that think that he is not qualified right now to be a HC in college football. What they're basing that on, I have no idea.

That's not what I said. I said that I'm pretty sure that I saw an interview saying he wasn't ready yet. If I didn't see the interview then I'm certain that I read it on here.

If Aranda decides that he wishes to pursue being a HC and the right position becomes available, I'm sure that Aranda would have the opportunity to be a fine head coach.

He has the skins on the walls in multiple stops, and he appears to have earned the respect of the coaching community.

I trust that LSU is providing Aranda with all the resources necessary for him to succeed in his current role.

Venables Is a better D/C then Aranda and it’s not even close. We keep trying to convince ourselves that Aranda is great, but in reality he’s just average. I hate to admit it, but it’s true. He was pitiful in losses to ND and A&M. I get nervous when the games on the line and we’re on defense. I’ve seen great defenses at LSU and to me, he’s just average. Flame away...

Blaming him for ND and A&M is laughable. Donte Jackson screwed that up no matter who the DC was. Just one bad play in an otherwise solid career. I guess you thought A&M won that one legitimately and that a super human DC was suppose to cover up for a gassed D.

As far as him overall as a DC many smart folks who make a living analyzing football disagree with you wholeheartedly. But that is OK, you have a right to be wrong. I am sure it has happened many times to you before. We all still love you for it:).

Lost to Florida twice. N both situations the defense let us down. Donte Jackson got beat deep twice. Having said that Beckwith getting hurt and no replacement hurt us badly. Florida last year beat us in the fourth quarter with Felipe Franks running the option. Against Bama we rush three and cover 8 giving Tua some much time he destroys us. We made Kellen Mond and the TAM tailback look like All Americans.

Anyway. I like Aranda but personall issues roster issues We finally have a nose tackle.. we think. We have not had a pass rush for 5 or 6 years.

Gene Les has certainly figured out a Bama. Having said that Clemson D line was able to hold its own and more against Bama. So venebles and the Clemson strength and conditioning program is better than ours.

Les was a great recruiter and we fired him.

O is supposedly a great recruiter and he finished forth in the SEC.

If we have to fire O, I would like to see a real change in coaching and not the pretend change we got last time.

In 2016, Florida won 16-10. In 2018, Florida won 27-19. On both games the offense was absolutely PUTRID, yet you blame Aranda for the losses.

How did LSU’s offense do in the fourth quarter?

Who was LSU’s DL coach/head coach during much of that period?

Maybe mention that Clemson also employs a functioning offense that compliments their defense.

I love Iowa State, but not sure of their future after Campbell. Especially not to put them in the same line as ole Miss or USC.

No shite!

It's too funny that some want to act as if O wasn't on the LSU staff since 2015 and even if he was he holds no blame for the DL play or DL recruitment before 2017 and even since every failure belongs to Les and not O.

And I don't really remember that interview, but I remember people running with a rumor that he didn't want to be a head coach and accepting it as fact. If you can find this interview I'd like to read it. I'm not saying it didn't happen, just curious.

the amount of people in this thread that think Coach O is a better coach than Aranda is mind boggling we have one of the lowest IQ's for a fanbase.

Campbell.

If O doesn't work out, I hope Woodard takes a hard look at Matt Campbell. I'm surprised Ohio St didn't go after him like NFL teams did.

That's why Campbell, the 39-year-old rising star who has turned a historically woebegone Iowa State program into one of the nation's fast-rising programs, is coming back for his fourth season with the Cyclones instead of heading to the NFL.

According to a person with direct knowledge of the situation, six NFL teams reached out to Campbell during this most recent NFL hiring cycle.

Aranda makes more money as a DC than most head coaches make. He seems to enjoy his anonymity and I’m not sure he is looking to step forward into the spotlight as a HC. He enjoys his job and his role in the program. I’m not sure he’ll ever want to be a HC. I think he’d be more likely to jump to an NFL DC position over a HC job.

I'd love to find it. I'm certain that it exists. I'm certain that he said that he wasn't ready at the time that O was hired but he absolutely wanted to be a head coach.

I wasn't able to look for it today because of things that I had to do. I've got three more to do.
