mitch is the only player the nyk have that look like he might amount to anything.
DSJ will probably end up being an average ball dominant PG
knox had a much worse rookie season than BI: -6 BPM!
I've ran the numbers. all I'm saying.
the dilemma is I'm not sure lake show should do it considering the west might be wide open next year..?
then again I'm showing out to most pels home games so I want them to be competitive too

You do understand that the value in the Knicks package isn't in the players, right?

he could stay and form a nice little trio with Zion and Jrue... or
we could deal him to the Lakers for the #4, Kuzma, Ingram, Hart, etc.... would give us a decent young core of players to fit around Zion and Jrue, and possibly Culver, Hunter, or Garland... or
we could deal him to the Knicks for the #3, bringing Knox, Smith Jr, Robinson, Trier, etc to put w/ Zion and Jrue, while also bringing Barrett into the options mentioned above... or
we could deal him to the Celtics, who have 3 first round picks (14, 20, 22) to package along with Tatum, Rozier, Brown, and Smart, in some combination, to add to Zion and Jrue....
i like the Celtics trade, even if we don't get another high pick this year... Jrue, Brown, Tatum, Zion, and Randle... with Rozier, Payton, Okafor, etc off the bench...
of course keeping him we'd have Payton, Jrue, Zion, Davis, and Randle... i think they'd play him at the 3 with AD staying b/c you sorta have a log jam at PF and C if not... putting the best 5 out there would have him at the 3, where physically he'd dominate smaller wings in the league, creating mismatches all over the court for teams trying to decide who to guard between him, AD, and Randle...

The one problem there is AD has explicitly said he doesn't want to go to Boston
Damn we just making shite up now?

As I've said before, it doesnt make much sense to trade a franchise player to a team you will compete for a playoff spot with for the next 10 years.
I don't get this attitude. You're getting Zion. Do the best trade for the Pels and tty to compete for a ring, not a playoff spot.
Being worried about a competitor for a playoff spot...my focus would be on trying to be championship level. When you want a ring, you have to go through stars. Whether that's AD, KD or anyone else...scared money don't make money or win rings.

Sounds like a playoff team next year

Yes, because those amazing Lakers assets have made them championship level with the 2nd greatest player of all time next to them.
If the Lakers had future pick assets and the #2 or 3 pick then their package becomes super attractive.
But they don't. They have nothing to add to their current players, and they have a bunch of talented but damaged guys that are nearing the end of their rookie deals.
I mean it could happen. Griffin could love the Lakers assets.
But its not the slam dunk that Lakers fans desperately want it to be, and there are pros and cons to all packages.

ppl forget lake show young core was #3 in West at break and then thumped the dubs by 20 on chrstmas.

either scenario, him staying or dealt to the Celts, puts us in contention to be anywhere from #2 to #6 next year...
the Lakers scenario likely puts us in the playoffs, but not much more than that... the Knicks scenario would likely take a year or two...

i generally try to stay out of these threads because they always devolve. but i will never understand people and their opinions of someone like brandon ingram. i have never understood the contract issue as the likelihood of him getting major money from anyone is low, he is literally only 21 and was doing this
im not going to sit here and try to talk him up as a better asset than tatum, but to act like hes some nonstarter that no one would take and has no trade value is just a bizarre take
quote:and the blood clot issue is not genetic and therefore, while it can obviously happen again, its not some legitimate longterm threat to completely derail his career like bosh
Brandon Ingram is THE youngest player to achieve a top 5% One on One talent grade in our database at @The_BBall_Index (2013-19 seasons).
0 players over that span have a better rating in our One on One metric at a younger age.

Agree with all of this. It’s one of the most bizarre takes otb but not surprising iwabh

No one knows that, and the dude as of a few weeks ago couldn't even lift his arm over his head. Not to mention the Pels will have to make a decision to pay him a large amount of money quickly.
Those, like anything else, are factors in a decision.

why stay out of threads dude.
they can go to pels talk and be gibberish posters about nyk "assets".
dumb things need to be called out on this board.
I'm battling everyone and coming out on top like the black Knight so far tho. so all good if you don't want to help

If the Lakers had gotten #2 then that + Ingram would be tough to turn down. #4 though, nah.

Just like you did when you said ty lue was going to be the next Lakers coach.
And when you said Pels were stupid to not trade AD before the deadline.
So.much.winning.

No one knows that, and the dude as of a few weeks ago couldn't even lift his arm over his head
quote:and i also question how legitimate this is as i dont see anyone in the league willing to pay him a long term, large money, kind of deal. sure, its more than what you would be paying someone at #3 or #4, but not nearly as much as what people on here have been suggesting. he will obviously ask for as much as he can get. yall, or us, will likely say no and then he will hit RFA and yall will have full control over his future and i wouldnt be shocked to see him get a pretty reasonable deal
Not to mention the Pels will have to make a decision to pay him a large amount of money quickly.

i agree with this... i think a lot of it has to do with perception... don't get me wrong, Tatum is better than Ingram, but the reason, IMO, that Ingram doesn't get as much respect, when talking trades for AD, is that he's very nonchalant in his approach, doesn't show as much personality on the court, and his body type isn't as athletic looking as Tatum... he has awkwardly long arms, so he just doesn't quite pass the eye test in comparison to other players...
now, this is not an assessment on his ability, that's not what i'm doing... i'm just giving my opinion on why i think he doesn't get the love he probably should when talking about acquiring him via trade... fwiw, i think he'd be better than what we have now at SF, for sure, but i'd rather Tatum, as i think he has the higher ceiling out of the 2...

lue WAS going to be the coach. I said that before it went public dude. check the time stamp.
our FO didn't offer him enough cash and then the Kidd thing. so good riddance I guess
