Question, the round plastic tubs with the rope handles that everyone Uses for washing crawfish that holds the plastic basket. How many gallons does it hold?

It’s easier to wash them in an ice chest with the plug out for ease of drainage, imho.

I'm old school. I have a galvanized #3 washtub that I purge my crawfish in. That tub has seen hundreds of sacks of mudbugs over the years and has acted as a bathtub for a cocker spaniel we once had for years when he got his weekly bath.

I’ve always thought about using a champagne. But putting it inside another one that’s not vented. Continue to replace water as needed.

At least someone knows the name of it. But I see from Thibodaux so you should.

I use a champagne basket inside half a 55 gallon drum. Works really but it's kinda tough to dump. I need to add a spigot to it.

What's the advantage of using a vented seafood basket like that to clean your crawfish?

I just dump them in the basket that came with my crawfish pot. Then I fill the pot up several times and dump it until the water is clear.

Then I put the clean crawfish in an ice chest until they are ready to get dumped in the pot...

Why buy another basket?

I'm a coonass, I have several of them baskets. If I dont have a basket available I use an ice chest.

I have a podna from Dulac who uses a Champagne basket to boil his crawfish in. Drops ut straight in the pot.

Martini yes that is he basket I use to fit in the washtub.

MightyYat- 17 gallons? Okay. On the bottom of my tub it says 2.5 Bushels which converted is roughly 23ish gallons. 17 gallons seems more logical.
