Neil Peart is constantly mentioned on top 10 drummers of all time lists and I think he doesnt even deserve a spot in the top 25...yet no one ever seems to talk about Alex Lifeson.

sup with dat?!?

Agree. In fact all three members are worthy of mention as one of the best of their profession.

Rolling Stone never gave these guys the respect they deserved.

There are some guitarists not fit to tie his boots, ahead of him on that list (I'm not a Rush or Lifeson fan, BTW).

Yup, you don't even have to be a fan of a particular musician to pick apart a typical garbage Rolling Stone list and the bizarre high placement of mediocre musicians who meet their definition of cool or whatever lame criteria they're using.

Kinda hard to take anything else you say seriously. But I will agree that Alex Lifeson is under appreciated. It was his misfortune to be a fantastic musician in a band with two others who would go down as legendary.

What a band Rush was.

Rolling Stone infamously ignored the contributions of 70s and 80s rock acts, until they became necessary to continue profiting off of their Rock and Roll Hall of Fame ceremonies/inductions every year (The founder of Rolling Stone is also the founder of the RnRHoF).

The idea that bands like Rush, Journey and Def Leppard, among others, whose songs are known by people spanning the ages of 10 to 70 in 2019, have just recently been acknowledged by those entities just enforces the notion that they are a sham organization.

To them, if you can't somehow be tied to Bob Dylan, you're insignificant and untalented.

Rolling stone lists suffer from recency bias and genre biases based on the panelists they use to derive the lists. Johnny Ramone is # 28 on a Rolling Stones list I saw or the 100 greatest guitarist., Ahead of Lifeson (#98) but also ahead of people like Slash, Muddy Waters, Joe Walsh, Ritchie Blackmore, Mark Knoffler, etc.

I apologize if you like the Ramones but musicianship was not their calling card. For full disclosure, I’m not a fan of theirs.

Whoah now. Don't throw Journey in the same sentence as Rush.

But yeah, if you think about the sound, it's hard to imagine a 3 piece outfit.

I agree Alex should be included in the list of top 10 to 15 rock guitarist. I don't understand the comment Neal Peart. He is definitely top 5 if not #1 in my book.

This speech may have something to do with it?

Was he always a dick? I watched this ceremony and speech and thought it was a dick move. I get it that he may have been saying FU to the HOF. But a bunch of your fans were in the stands. Maybe many made a trip to fricking Cleveland. At least say a few words. Even super aloof Peart used his big boy words and gave a speech.

People want to love and kiss your arse. At least thank the fans.
