During the last week of my surgery rotation one of the pts that was getting a hemorrhoidectomy was a former college professor of mine. It was the only class that I ever failed and I failed by like .2%. The attending surgeon and I were talking before the procedure and I happened to mention that he was my former professor and was a total a-hole that would not even meet with me or respond to my emails about my grade until it was too late, and when he did respond he told me that in his opinion if I could not pass his class without extra credit (which I never asked for) then I should not go to medical school. My attendee was cool and let me perform most of the surgery because it was a simple procedure and it was my last week.


Let that be a warning to all teachers, professors, and academics out there. Never be an arse to a student, because one day he might just be the person performing in your arse (no teacher - student sex joke intended).
