HB 231 involuntarily deferred in Civil Law committee yesterday. So unless Rep. Pearson gets crazy and tries to bring it to the floor, it’s dead this session.

Don't forget to leave my key in the fork of "the tree" (You know - the one we agreed on).

will do. don't post pics of all the fish you catch on La Sportsman tho, I get all kinds of jealous fools trying to tell me I don't own the water whenever you do that.
Of course I own it. Its on my property

Bad title..... Fishing all public water still not allowed in Louisiana.....
Legal in all other states.....
You can own the water in Louisiana
Corruption and Greed

It's a weird law, from an Alabama guy's perspective. I guess it makes more sense considering so much of LA is under water. But, in AL, it would make zero sense for people to own the water.

It’s just wrong.... the mobile delta in Alabama and the Sabine delta in Texas are very similar to the marsh in Louisiana.... it’s just greed... our public tax dollars are being used to rebuild “private marshland “ for the use of just a handful of people.... the fishermen don’t want access to any land.... just the ability to fish the water...... The amount of areas we have lost fishing access to is astonishing.. gate here, gate there.... and for what reason.. just greed....

Youre claiming its greed while arguing you should be able to access everything.

No greed here.... I live on a canal.... I have no gate.... I enjoy seeing families fish in the canal.. if a canal connects to a lake a gate is up that doesn’t allow access to that canal.... then the people who put up the gate are greedy not allowing my access to fish the “public water “ on the other side of the gate.... that’s it...

I fish all over the southeastern United States..... this is the only state I have ever been in in which you drive a boat and see gate after gate .... sign after sign telling the public they are not allowed to fish an area...
