Is there really much of any difference between the Houston - Dallas - Atlanta - Charlotte type of city?

Mids 20s-30s professionals ubering to bars, breweries, brunch, and going to boutique workout classes. (not saying I don't do any of that). Just kinda all seems like the same thing.

This is fairly accurate. Charlotte and Atlanta give you better weather and more outdoor opportunities, but they are all pretty similar for the most part.

Gotta admit that avoiding the breeze is pretty low on my list of considerations

frick the cowboys.

They're in buttfrick Arlington anyways. I meant stars and Mavs mainly. I don't make many ranger games.

Trying to figure out what to do for Auburn-Oregon

I loathe Arlington, can't believe the Rangers are doubling down on it

People in their 40’s do all of this too. Especially those without kids in a big city.

Because you were looking in the Alliance area. All brand new and way the eff north.

Come live on the westside/bestside of FW. We hold it down, son.

I've lived in the burbs for 17 years and it blows my mind people try to justify living out here. Beyond good schools and large lots in certain subdivisions, they offer nothing. Can't wait for my kids to finish school so I can move out of this hellhole of homoegeny.

I cannot provide info for Houston, but Dallas is dying.

Most asinine statement in this thread. Dallas is booming economically. Prices for inner city housing has skyrocketed because of the high demand.

There are rampant crime issues,

Its not rampant. Certain areas are bad just like in any big city.

free packs of roaming dogs,

In the very, very poor parts of the city. I haven't seen any free roaming dogs anywhere I go in the city.

quote:

practical legalization of small theft by the new DA

Lets wait and see how this plays out. It will be a non-issue is my guess.

many retired early or left because the pension fund was under water. That has been cleaned up now.

worthless hipsters screaming at the sky

I see very few hipsters in Dallas.

high taxes and breaking infrastructure.

property taxes have gone crazy due to property values going up and our roads are full of potholes.

new money people are not flocking to Dallas

Really? I disagree. I can throw a rock and hit a million dollar house around me and people are snapping them up.
