About the only active coach I can think of with a better resume is Kevin O'Sullivan, and that is splitting hairs. I would take O'Sullivan if we are in a position to make a change at the end of the year. Could we get him from Florida? I don't know.

Blake Dean? UNO is currently 20-22 overall and 6-13 in conference.

Matt Riser? Southeastern is 23-19 overall and 13-6 in conference.

Cannizaro? LOL. What is Holy Cross' record? Maybe he can sext from the dugout to motivate the team.

Mike Martin has the most wins of all time and zero national championships. Florida State might not make a regional this year. Should he be fired? Cal State Fullerton is in the same boat. Should Rick Vanderhook be fired?

So who is your pick? Let's compare resumes.

All this talk of hiring a replacement for Mainieri is nonsense. While I agree that we’ve underachieved, he isn’t getting fired.

Coastal Carolina’s Coach has been mentioned a few times

When asked what he brings to the table I get no response

I agree. It's simply a topic for discussion since most of the board wants him fired, but I don't think most of them have the first clue who they would hire to replace him.

Do you think we can talk him out of retirement?

for real tho, Canizaro would be fine. Culture changer, heck of a recruiter, has had SEC success, and could be at LSU for 2 decades

He's not going anywhere. The only way (and it's a loooonnnngggg shot)is if he realizes that his heart isn't in it anymore and retires at the end of the season.
