James Moran is on Sports Today right now and is talking about the coaches had made the decision to put Hess back in the pen and Henry moved to Friday night, Hess was made aware and was fine with it.
Then about 20 minutes later the trainer delivered the Henry news.

Paul Mainieri says Cole Henry was going to move to Friday nights and Zack Hess was going to the bullpen. Obviously that’s out the window now #LSU

So what was the weekend rotation going to be without HEss but with Henry? Henry/Walker/Marceaux?

That would be my guess

Either Marceaux or Hilliard on Sunday imo.

Just seems weird to me, Hilliard has been getting rocked and Marceaux is JUST coming back. IS Hess a friday night guy? Nah, but he's gotta be the best option of those 3 for a weekend rotation for now. Well, assuming Hess is actually healthy too.

Someone else said this in another thread and was downvoted for it, but why is he only saying this now that it's not an option?
I'm skeptical of the statement.

Seems odd to me as well. Hess is easily 1 of the top 3 starters, & he can throw 100+ pitches with ease...if healthy.
It's not like Marceaux & Hilliard are sure things.

I don’t know if anyone on here listened to Anthony Ranaudo being interviewed by Matt Mascona yesterday but Ranaudo basically said that a lot of these guys can’t tell the difference between arm soreness and an actual injury. They don’t know their bodies yet and could get some arm soreness but then their mind starts telling them that it’s an actual injury and they really start to think they are actually injured. The power of the mind pretty much.
I still think it’s these guys throwing too much before they go to college and throw too many pitches on travel ball teams during the summer and fall and don’t get the correct amount of rest and don’t stretch and take care of their arms properly because they aren’t trainers or anything like that on travel ball teams and the travel ball coaches don’t have the slightest idea about arm safety

Thank you for bringing that up. I think Ranaudo makes a good point and I otherwise would have never heard it because he said it on Mascona's show.

Can you post this in the other thread for the slower folks?

Makes no sense to put Hess in the pen at this point unless Jaden Hill was back and healthy and pitching well. Mainieri is so stupid sometimes I swear

His curveball has nowhere near the break it had last year. At least not consistently. Something is not right with him.

I think he was expecting marceaux to make the leap back into the rotation. It wouldve been a risky move, but not shocking. I said last week i thought it was interesting that hess came out of the pen instead of starting. I know they said it was precautionary, but it didnt really make sense to do that

Dunn can’t keep our young arms healthy. If it happened here and there, that would be one thing. However, almost every freshmen pitcher that sees meaningful time on the bump in recent years has had some arm trouble.
