Save me from clicking the link and reading through an article.

Additionally, the NCAA had made a tweak to college football's overtime rules. If a game reaches a fifth overtime, teams will begin to run alternating two-point plays rather than offensive possessions starting at the 25-yard line. This was done to limit the number of plays run overall.

Other changes ahead of the 2019 season include a 15-yard penalty for forcible contact on blindside blocks

Instant replay officials will be directed to examine all aspects of the play and confirm the targeting foul when all elements of targeting are present. If any element of targeting cannot be confirmed, the replay official will overturn the targeting foul. There will not be an option for letting the call on the field "stand" during a targeting review -- it must either be confirmed or overturned

Should just make it like the NFL

I’m still pissed a bullshite pass interference kept our game from going to an 8th OT

So you get one play from the 25? Am I reading that correctly?
Posted on 4/23/19 at 2:40 pm to BigTiny1973
No you just do the 2 point conversions from the 3 instead of starting at the 25

Ahhh dyslexia strikes again i missed the "rather than" part
Still 5 OT's is absurd

I could only imagine how long games would go if this what the rule

Start at your own 40. Have to get 30 yards for the first down. That’s the opponents 30. 1st and goal from there. Can’t kick a field goal unless you get the first first down.

That would be kinda awesome. I'd watch it just to see the frustration on the part of both teams.

LSU football from last year is referenced twice in the write-up to those new changes to the rulings.....the Devin White targeting hit and the 7 OT game with A&M.
It is good to be on the minds of the NCAA!!!

Starting in 2019, the panel has approved an adjustment that removes away some of the gray area that gives targeting a more all-or-nothing feel: "Instant replay officials will be directed to examine all aspects of the play and confirm the targeting foul when all elements of targeting are present. If any element of targeting cannot be confirmed, the replay official will overturn the targeting foul. Why not just go with:
INTENTIONAL ejected
NOT INTENTIONAL 15 yd penatly

so it just becomes alternating "hail mary's" from the 25yd line? That's dumb.

Both are good steps in the right direction. But to be honest it doesn’t negate the bullshite that was whites targeting call and that fumble that was missed in overtime against A&M. I would’ve rather had seen a central replay for each region that was not associated with the conference. So southeast conference replays would be done by some group of officials dedicated to replay.
