LSU will announce Scott Woodward at a noon press conference Tuesday in the Holliday Forum of the Manship School's Journalism Building, per a release.
The event is open to the public.
And this is what I want. All available head coaches standing behind him as he speaks, with Orgeron offset to the left or right so we can get a good camera angle on both of their faces......I just want to see Ed's face.
That's all.

Ed's not on the hot seat by any means, but he lost his insurance policy when Joe was fired. Joe Alleva's future was linked directly to Orgeron's success so he was going to give him a longer leash.
Outside of Alleva's office, the Ed Orgeron hire was widely considered absolute garbage for a program like LSU's. It was a national joke and Woodward definitely would not have made that choice.
That being said, we are primed for a great year and if Orgeron delivers he'll prove everyone wrong and Joe Alleva right. I hope that happens.

100% indisputable fact

Yep the seat looks real hot for O the number 2 recruiting class in the country right now and 10-3 last year, I can see how it’s just burning up.

Orgeron is probably stoked to have a boss that will give him all the resources he ever wanted, instead of being a bean counter who micromanages.
The fallacy of this latest rant narrative that Orgeron now has a shorter leash implies that it was ever long in the first place and that Alleva was holding it. Pretty obvious that Joe had been rubbing influential people the wrong way. If Orgeron flopped, then it wouldn't have been Alleva's decision, they would both have been fired. Nothing has changed for Ed with regards to his standing, win or he's out.

Our fans so hate JA and CEO, that they want to see the LSU football team go in the crapper, just to get rid of CEO and to prove that JA was "wrong"?
It's all so very strange. I want CEO to win a natty, because that means LSU football wins a natty, and the hell with whoever gets the credit.

Ed's leash will certainly be shorter with Woodward but I agree that he's not even close to being on the hot seat. If he went 7-5 or 8-4 this year maybe it would get a little warm.

No, we want CEO gone because he is not HC material. Same thing applies with JA and the AD position. It’s going to be hilarious when this board implodes after we score 3 points against Bama with the new ‘Saints’ offense

It’s the truth. Inherited coaches that aren’t stars of their profession always have a shorter leash with new ADs.
And Ed Orgeron was objectively a lackluster hire.

Why? When Joe hired Orgeron it certainly wasn't an overly popular decision. If O failed people were going to blame Joe for making a dumb hire that seemed dumb from the outset. And if Joe was forced to fire him, you don't think the people putting up money would have ZERO confidence in Joe's ability to hire a new coach? Joe would have been reluctant to fire O because doing so would have essentially been an admission of fault. It would have been the 3rd major HC he hired that failed (Trent Johnson and Johnny Jones being the first two).
The new AD bears no responsibility for O being the HC. Thus, if he feels someone else would be better suited to run the program he will have no hesitation to make the move. So yes, O's job security is lessened with the "firing" of Alleva.
THAT SAID, fans openly wanting to "see O squirm" are equally as stupid. AT WORST, he's maintained Miles's level of success post 2011. While that's no reason to throw a parade, it certainly isn't a reason to fire him right now either.
LSU will be a top 10 team (perhaps top 5) going into the season with a legitimate chance to be a playoff contender. I don't care who the HC is, that's a reason for optimism. If this season doesn't live up to expectations/potential, then we can revisit O as the HC. But right now there is no reason to relish in his presumed anxiety

I think this would be enough to warrant a change. 4-3-4/5 losses? That's enough in my eyes. 3 losses keeps him safe but with a scolding seat.
I don't think this is happening because I think we'll be really good.

Alleva hired O, so Alleva had more invested in him. Woodward does not. Not that I want to see O fail. He is tearing it up on the recruiting trail. 9-3 season are just meh. Got to deliver.
