Been at same place for 21 years. Up $10 from my starting full time rate. Seems like inflation is a lot more

I’m salary. I have no idea what my hourly rate is.

I have to ask taxpayers to fork over money for a raise.

This is your fault for giving up. Its never too late though.

ETA: Money isnt everything though. Make sure your kids grow up decent and you will have left a better impression on the world than many rich people.

This is why young people jump ship. Companies will only give good pay raises for major position/promotions. Easier to find another job that pays better.

most of the 600 employees make within $5 of each other.

I'm 25 and I started at a company on the road, got promoted to supervisor within two months of starting because of high turnover, got a $4,000 raise, then got a $2,500 raise the next year. Got offered a management position that involved a move to Arkansas and only a $3500 raise then they kinda got pissy when I turned it down. Jumped ship and make a few thousand more entry level at a different company and I'm home now.

Started at 16/hr in November 2015. Brought in 72/hr last year.

But I'm in sales so it's all from commission.
