Besides Bonds and Clemens, it has to be Juan Gonzales.
.295/42/135 is this guys career 162 game averages.
434 hrs and 1404 rbis in basically 11 full seasons.

On talent alone and disregarding stats, you have to have Will Clark somewhere on that shortlist.

Juan gone is an odd choice here. Pete rose is an obvious name. As mentioned shoeless joe

The correct answer is Pete Rose.

Dude, it has to be Pete Rose.

I assume this thread means of players who are currently HOF eligible. If not, the answer is ARod.

were not talking best career, were talking best player. Juan gonzalez played 20 full seasons he'd have over 700 hrs lol.

And Pujols is still playing.
Just the top five after Bonds and Clemens not in.

Juan Gonzalez has a career OBP of .343, which is barely over league average for his era, and he was a terrible defender. He was a good player, but definitely not the answer to this query.
If players were still viewed and valued the way they were in the 90s, Gonzalez would look a lot better.

There’s no way Juan Gonzalez wasn’t on steroids that’s probably why he isn’t in.

How about rewording the question about about players who aren't in not because of roids, gambling, etc.
